Vietnamese Businesses Attend Biggest Furniture Show in the UK

The opening ceremony took place on the morning of Sunday, January 22, 2023 with the participation of representatives from Embassy of Vietnam in the UK and Vietnam Trade Office in the UK. There were also Vietnamese Business Association in the UK (VBUK). Co-organizer of Vietnam Pavillion at this fair was The Popular, also a member of VBUK.

Six large furniture manufacturing companies from Vietnam attended this year. The Vietnamese pavilion in the central area of ​​the exhibition displayed and introduced interior and exterior wood products; home decor; handicrafts; hotel furniture; and lighting equipment, attracting many UK wholesalers and retailers as well as exhibition visitors.

Businesses and visitors were introduced to interior and exterior wood products as well as the production and distribution process of these products, ensuring on-time delivery and meeting requirements. environmental standards.

Furniture and fine art products are the key export items with the 7th largest proportion of turnover from Vietnam to the UK. In 2022, Vietnam's exports of wood and wood products to the UK reached US $239.66 million, accounting for nearly 4% of the total export value to this country.

According to the Vietnam Trade Office in the UK, the export of wood products and handicrafts to the UK has good prospects because this is the world's fifth largest furniture market (after the US, Japan, Korea, and Germany) with an annual growth forecast for the period 2021 - 2026 of 3.2%.

In particular, many wood products will have a 0% tax rate within the next 5 years, according to the Vietnam - UK Free Trade Agreement.

Held annually since 1990, JFS introduces and displays about 50,000 products of more than 500 national and international brands. This year's exhibition attracts the participation of more than 22,000 exhibitors and visitors, cited to the organizer NEC Bỉrmingham.
