Vietnamese Class for Overseas Children in Denmark Inagurated
This is the first Vietnamese class held at the Embassy. Nearly 20 students, from 7 to 15 years old, are children of Vietnamese families, born and raised in Denmark.
In his remark, Vietnamese Ambassador to Denmark Luong Thanh Nghi highly appreciated the efforts of the organizers, teachers, and parents to hold the class for the children. Quoting the lyrics of the song "Thuong ca Tieng Viet": "Vietnamese lives in everyone. My Vietnamese soul is still unchanged. Keep the Vietnamese language for life. The language of the homeland the language of faithfulness", the Ambassador said that this is a meaningful activity to help children keep their mother tongue and understand the homeland's traditions and history. The class also strengthens family connections and maintains community connections.

Ambassador Luong Thanh Nghi hopes parents will pay attention, especially in creating a Vietnamese language environment in their own families so that their children can practice Vietnamese daily. The Ambassador also recommended that teachers spend time communicating in an easy-to-understand way, thereby introducing the national culture, history, and language. He hopes that the children can contribute to the local society and visit the homeland when they grow up.
On this occasion, Ambassador Luong Thanh Nghi said, in recent times, the State of Vietnam has considered teaching and learning Vietnamese as one of the focuses of the work on Vietnamese people abroad. From 2023, to encourage teaching and learning, and preserve the Vietnamese language, September 8 is chosen to be the day to honor the Vietnamese language in the Vietnamese community abroad. The State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese organizes annual summer camps for overseas Vietnamese youth and training classes for Vietnamese language teachers abroad.
