Vietnamese Embassy in Poland Supports People in Re-issuing Documents

On May 17, the Vietnamese Embassy in Poland began consular work to receive and process documents of people who lost documents in the Marywilska 44 Shopping Center fire. Many people received new documents after only about one hour after submitting the application.

According to Vietnamese Ambassador to Poland Ha Hoang Hai, personal identification documents, including passports and civil status papers, are the most important and essential documents so that people can continue to reside legally, restore business activities, gradually stabilize their lives, and overcome these huge losses.

In order to support people during difficult times, officers and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Poland created favorable conditions for them. The Embassy mobilized its staff to the maximum, working day and night, and on weekends.

Despite receiving and processing a large volume of documents at the same time, the Vietnamese Embassy in Poland still strives to resolve them quickly, and return documents as soon as possible.

Many people received new passports and documents issued by the Vietnamese Embassy in Poland in just over one hour since the documents were received.

When encountering some problems during the process, the Embassy proactively contacts people to find solutions.

Nguyen Thi Thanh Ha said she and her family have been doing business in Poland for more than 25 years. They moved into business at Marywilska 44 Shopping Center from the first days this center was established 14 years ago. After the fire, her family lost all goods, cash, and documents left at the stall.

Pham Duc Tien (60 years old) said the fire caused his family to lose everything after many years of business.

Although still in shock, Ha and Tien, and many people feel comforted, encouraged and reassured by the support of the Vietnamese Embassy in Poland. After receiving new documents, people will continue to carry out procedures related to residence cards and banking.

In addition to re-issuing documents, the Vietnamese Embassy in Poland also works with the local government and authorities to support people in solving further problems.

Ambassador Ha Hoang Hai had a meeting with Liwiusz Laska, representative of the Polish Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy, Mariusz Frankowski, governor of Mazowsze and Zbigniew Derdziuk, head of the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) to request an investigation clarifying the cause of the fire as well as fully ensure the legal rights and interests of Vietnamese citizens.

Immediately after the fire on May 12 at Marywilska 44 Shopping Center in Warsaw, Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son and leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs directed the Vietnamese Embassy in Poland to immediately send officers to the scene, coordinate with local authorities and Vietnamese Associations in Poland to visit and encourage people, take measures to protect citizens.
