The U23 Southeast Asia Championship 2022 officially kicked off on the afternoon of February 14 at Cambodia Morodok Techo National Stadium with two matches in Group A.

This year's attendees are divided into 3 groups. U23 Vietnam is placed in Group C along with Singapore and Thailand. According to the schedule, the U23 team will play its first match at 19:00 on February 19 at Prince Stadium in Phnom Penh against Singapore.

A lot of overseas Vietnamese in Cambodia are eagerly waiting to enjoy the match at the stadium to cheer up the national team.

In an interview with Vietnam News Agency, Le Manh Hung, the owner of Hoa Sen Restaurant in Phnom Penh, said that his group of friends, about 50 people, was ready to visit the stadium to support U23 Vietnam in the match against Singapore on February 19. The group has bought tickets a day in advance and will gather at Hoa Sen Restaurant before going to the stadium.

Le Van Phuc, who works for the Khmer-Vietnam Friendship Association, said that his friends, the youth association, and the doctor's association were rushing to buy tickets to the match.

Pham Viet Hung, an officer of the Vietnam Embassy to Cambodia hopes that the home team will win all matches, reach the semi-finals, then the final so that they can watch them in person in the next round at Morodok Techo National Stadium.

Before officially entering the 2022 Southeast Asian U23 Championship, coach Dinh The Nam and his students have worked hard for more than a month.
