Vietnamese Language Centre in Hungary Begins New School Year
Responding to the Day for Honoring Vietnamese Language in Vietnamese Communities Abroad (September 8), the Budapest Vietnamese-language center in Hungary on September 10 organized the Vietnamese language day and the opening ceremony of the 2023-2024 school year.
Participating in the ceremony were Chargé d'affaires Le Trong Ha, officials of the Vietnamese Embassy in Hungary, teachers, parents and nearly 60 students and children of the Vietnamese community living and studying in the host country.

Speaking at the event, Le Trong Ha, Chargé d'affaires, Vietnamese Embassy in Hungary, warmly welcomed the students attending the opening of the new school year; proud to share that the Day of Honoring Vietnamese in the Vietnamese community abroad is gradually becoming an important milestone in the lives of community members, especially increasing the love for the Vietnamese language, thereby helping to maintain the language.
He affirmed that this is the most effective measure to preserve the traditions and cultural identity of the Vietnamese nation, building love and pride for the homeland.
Expressing sincere thanks to the center, thanking the teachers for their dedication and volunteerism in teaching Vietnamese to the second and third generations in the community, always playing a pivotal role in preserving, and promoting the Vietnamese language in the Vietnamese community in Hungary with meaningful activities over the past 10 years, Chargé d'affaires Le Trong Ha affirmed that the Vietnamese Embassy in Hungary will always accompany, support and call on associations.

Teacher Tran Anh Tuan, in charge of the Budapest Vietnamese-language centre in Hungary, happily said that the Vietnamese language day and opening ceremony activities have been held annually in Budapest for more than a decade, with interactive activities; encouraging, inspiring, and fostering a love of Vietnamese for children of the Vietnamese community in Budapest.
With pedagogical skills trained through training courses organized by the State Committee on Overseas Vietnamese Affairs (SCOVA) and a deep love for students, teachers have persevered, persevered, and strived to build, the center's development is increasingly expanding.
The number of students registered this year has increased to more than 80 students, compared to 64 students in the 2022 school year. It is expected to continue to increase further in the near future with the enthusiastic support of parents and teachers. community members.
For more than 5.3 million Vietnamese living and working in over 130 countries and territories worldwide, the Vietnamese language is a national pride, a bond of the community and bridge, and a firm pillar of the Vietnamese culture.
The Day for Honoring the Vietnamese Language is intended to enhance the overseas Vietnamese community’s awareness of the Vietnamese language’s beauty and value.
The project will be implemented in parallel with the cultural diplomacy strategy until 2030.
