Vietnamese, Lao People from All Walks of Life Exchange, Foster Cooperation

A friendship golf tournament was held on October 8 in Vientiane, the capital of Laos to celebrate the Vietnam-Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year 2022.
The event saw the presence of Lao Deputy Prime Minister Kikeo Khaykhamphithoune, Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Ba Hung as well as other officials and businessmen from both countries.
The tournament, which draw the participation of 200 Vietnamese and Lao golfers, was organised by the Vietnam Business Association for Cooperation and Investment in Laos, in collaboration with Young Entrepreneurs Association of Laos and the Embassy of Hanoi in Vientiane.
It is part of activities to mark the 60th anniversary of Vietnam – Laos diplomatic ties and the 45th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation between the two nations.

The tournament is expected to contribute to strengthening mutual understanding between the business communities of Vietnam and Laos, as well as enriching the special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two nations.
Bilateral cooperation has seen progress in recent years given the good long-standing friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive partnership between the two countries. Many exchange programmes and cooperation activities have been jointly organised, attracting associations and enterprises from both sides
Earlier, a memorandum of understanding for the 2022-2024 period was signed between the Quang Binh provincial Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) and the Khammoune provincial Lao People’s Revolutionary Youth Union at their talks on October 7 in central province of Quang Binh.
It is part of the Quang Binh – Khammoune friendship youth meeting, which aims to enhance the exchange of information and experience on the work of Youth Union, youth movement, entrepreneurship models between youngsters of the two localities.
Under the MoU, the two sides will intensify the dissemination on traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos for their residents.

In addition, they will spread the thoughts of President Ho Chi Minh on the Vietnamese revolution and Kaysone Phomvihane on the Lao revolution, as well as the solidarity between the two countries, two Parties and peoples in general, and between those localities, in particular.
Also at the talks, the delegates from Quang Binh and Khammouane provinces agreed to collaborate in building a project in a border commune and hold various cultural and sports activities for students in each province.
Elsewhere, the Vietnamese Consulate General in the Lao northern province of Luang Prabang, Laos provincial Department of Information, Culture and Tourism jointly held a bicycle parade and a film screening about historical traditions between Vietnam and Laos, attracting about 500 participants of all ages.
Attending the event were Vietnamese Consul General in Luang Prabang Kieu Thi Hang Phuc; representatives of provincial leaders, departments, branches and a large number of officials and employees of departments, employees of the Consulate General of Vietnam and people in the province.
In particular, during the parade, participants wore the traditional costume of their ethnic group to honour their cultural identity, conveying the message of protecting and preserving the culture of the two countries Vietnam - Laos.
