During a reception in Hanoi on August 24 for a delegation of the LDP’s Youth Division led by Suzuki Norikaru, member of the House of Representatives and Sato Kei, member of the House of Councillors, who are Acting Heads of the Youth Division, President Phuc said on the occasion of the 50th founding anniversary of diplomatic ties next year, Vietnam wished to welcome the Emperor, Empress and senior leaders of Japan.
He suggested the two countries’ relevant agencies jointly hold celebrations on the occasion to reflect their bilateral extensive strategic partnership, while parliamentarians and deputies to local People’s Councils should facilitate people-to-people exchanges in terms of culture and tourism.
The host also asked Japan to assist Vietnam in various areas by promoting post-pandemic economic recovery, especially in trade, investment, official development assistance, innovation, and digital and green transformation, thus turning Japan into the biggest investor in Vietnam soon via the effective implementation of the Asia-Japan Investing for the Future Initiative and encouraging Japanese firms to switch investment and diversify supply chains in Vietnam.
Norikaru told his host that the delegation held working sessions and exchanges with Vietnamese National Assembly deputies and the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, during which, they discussed ways to boost ties between the two countries’ youths and young parliamentarians.
He pledged that he and parliamentarians will uphold the fine bilateral relations and wished to join hands in organizing activities next year when the two countries celebrate the 50th founding anniversary of diplomatic ties.

Norikazu said that the delegation had worked with representatives of the Vietnamese NA's Young Parliamentarians Group and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) Central Committee to discuss measures to strengthen the relationship between young people and parliamentarians of the two countries.
Meanwhile, Kei emphasized the LDP’s Youth Division is very eager to promote cooperation between young parliamentarians and people of the two countries, and Vietnamese students in Japan.
He wished to continue receiving the support of the top Vietnamese legislator so that the relationship between young parliamentarians and generations of the two countries will be strengthened, significantly contributing to developing the extensive strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia between Japan and Vietnam.

The NA Chairman suggested young parliamentarians and the LDP’s Youth Division continue to pay attention to the Vietnamese community in Japan, especially Vietnamese youths and students; and further promote labor cooperation between the two countries, making it easier for Vietnamese laborers to work in Japan.
The youths of the two countries should increase visits and experience sharing activities, as well as organize periodic youth and student festivals, especially in 2023 when the two countries will celebrate the 50th founding anniversary of diplomatic ties, he said.
As VOV News reported, this is the fourth time the LDP has sent young parliamentarians to visit Vietnam.
