A space dedicated to Vietnam, called “Goc Vietnam (Vietnamese corner)”, has been inaugurated in the port city of Odessa in Ukraine last Friday, VNA reported.
The creative and unique design was designed and elaborately made by Ukrainian artisans. In which the dragon with impressive colors is winding and reaching far. The work of art has created a unique and outstanding work located right in the center of Odessa Zoo.
Not only always creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere, but also conveying the Vietnamese community's desire for peace for the beloved land of Odessa. Besides, the work also creates a highlight, attracting visitors from near and far to visit Odessa Zoo.

Attending the ceremony were Vietnamese Ambassador to Ukraine Nguyen Hong Thach and the delegation of the embassy, Honorary Consul of Vietnam in Odesa Nguyen Van Khanh, Chairman of the Vietnamese Association of Odesa Nguyen Nhu Manh and more than 300 people and teenagers living in Odesa.
On the Ukrainian side, there were Odesa Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov, city departments and agencies, 26 representatives of diplomatic agencies in the city, representatives of news agencies and newspapers, and many local people who came to admire and take photos.

At the inauguration ceremony, Mayor of Odessa Gennadiy Trukhanov praised the valuable contributions of the Vietnamese community and the humanitarian significance of the project, especially amid the current conflict.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Ukraine Nguyen Hong Thach highlighted that the project symbolizes the friendship between the community and the city. He said Odessa provides opportunities for Vietnamese expatriates, and in return, they must contribute to Odessa.
Igor Chemorkin, a chief specialist of the Odessa oblast’s department of culture, tourism, ethnicities, and religions, noted this is the first project at a public place in Odessa, showcasing a friendly and hospitable Vietnam. It also represents the pioneering work of the Vietnamese community among over 50 ethnic groups residing in the oblast and city.

The space, constructed with contributions from the Vietnamese Embassy and the local Vietnamese community, covers an area of approximately 500 square meters with four façades in the most picturesque area of the Odessa Zoo.
"The Vietnam Corner has brought the country and culture of Vietnam closer to the people of Odesa," the director of the Odesa Zoo Igor Beliakov stressed.

Right after the cutting ceremony with the participation of Vietnamese performers, the lion dance, quan họ (love duet) folk singing, fan dance, performed by community artists in national costumes enlivened the atmosphere of the ceremony.
In addition, to promote the image of the country, the organizers have decorated a separate area for taking photos. This is the place that has attracted many people to visit and take souvenir photos.
Admiring the Vietnam Corner, visitor to the Odesa Zoo, are impressed by the extremely creative design as wel as meticulous and elaborate construction.
Very proud that Odesa has a unique and outstanding work of art located right in the center of the Odesa Zoo, Maria, a visitors, expressed her belief that the Dragon mascot symbol cluster will bring good luck and fortune; and added that the Vietnam Corner will create a highlight, drawing visitors to visit the Odesa Zoo.
