Pangea Math World is an entertaining and challenging competition held for primary, secondary, and high school students.
With the motto "Mathematics connects", Pangea Math World brings together students from different continents with different social and educational backgrounds, who are interested in mathematics and have a talent for the subject. In addition, it helps to motivate them and share their experiences and enjoyment with others.
Founded in 2007, PMW has attracted the participation of more than three million students from different countries across the world. Over 3 million students from 22 European countries have competed in this competition so far.
The countries that currently host the Pangea Math Europe are Germany, Italy, Hungary, Poland, Austria, Spain, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Ireland, Switzerland, Lithuania, Denmark, England, Finland and Belarus.
Due to the Pandemic, the Pangea Math Europe has been held online since 2019. Each European country organizes its own competition rather than competing with one another. As a result, countries announce their own country results and rankings following the completion of the country finals.
This year’s competition was held in Berlin from May 5-8.
The Pangea Math World is organised by Pangea Wettbewerb e.V., a non-profit organisation pursuing the goals that are specified in its statute.
