Vietnamese Traditional Culture and Arts Association Launched in Japan

The association was established to address the growing desire among Vietnamese families in Japan to preserve and promote Vietnamese cultural traditions for future generations born and raised in the host country.

The association's launching ceremony was held at the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan on November 30.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu addressed the significance of the association in the ongoing development of the Vietnamese community in Japan. He expressed his hope that through culture, the association will bring Vietnamese together and closer to the homeland. The association can also invite Japanese artists and cultural figures to become members, who will act as bridges to deepen the bilateral friendship and enrich Vietnam's cultural treasure.

Professor Tran Van Tho, Honorary President of the association, emphasized the timeliness of establishing such an organization to preserve and promote the beauty of Vietnamese culture. He highlighted its role in providing opportunities for individuals to understand their historical and cultural roots, thus connecting them to their homeland and enriching their spiritual lives.

Do Khanh Han, President of the association, stated that the association has outlined three major goals. These include: Preserving, honoring, and spreading the beauty of Vietnamese culture and arts within the community and in Japan; Maximizing resources to effectively achieve these goals; and Striving to become a bridge for Vietnamese cultural and artistic groups in Japan, as well as a reliable and quality partner of cultural and artistic institutions in both countries, thereby contributing to the promotion of Vietnam-Japan cultural exchanges.
