(VNF) - The final round of football festival Viettel World Cup 2015 started in Hanoi on January 18th.

The first ever event organized by the Vietnam Military-run Telecommunications Group lures the participation of 42 international players from 6 Viettel’s subsidiaries (Unitel, MetFone, Peru, Mozambique, East Timor, and Cameroon) and others from 17 domestic teams who qualified for the finals last November.

The winner will take the Cup and a USD10,000 cash.

The organizing board is expected to host the event annually, thus creating a forum for Viettel’s officers in both domestic and international markets to exchange, introduce unique features of their cultural life, and refresh themselves after hard working hours.

“It is really an international sports party. The participation of international teams is so interesting. This is our culture. In future, the event will be rotated and hosted in the markets which Viettel do business. The number of international teams is also expected to increase with the expansion of our market globally,” said Major General Hoang Cong Vinh, Vice General Director of Viettel.

The tour will wrap up on January 23rd./.
