These are invasive ventilators called Vsmart VFS-510 that the Vingroup gave to the Ukrainian government and people in early July.

The Center for Emergency Medicine and Disaster Medicine Kharkov was the first to receive the VFS-510 ventilator loaned by the Vingroup. These modern medical devices are not only intended for hospitals to aid in the treatment of COVID-19 patients, but are also installed in ambulances to provide prompt care for the majority of people.

Accordingly, the VSmart VFS-510 uses technology transferred and improved from a commonly used ventilator from US-based Medtronic, the world’s leading producer of breathing apparatus. The VFS-510 is compact, lightweight, and portable. It has six flexible breathing modes that can be used for both adult and pediatric patients who need invasive or noninvasive breathing support.

The Vsmart VFS-510 ventilator was installed in ambulances immediately upon receipt of the ventilators by the center on August 25.

Victor Zabashta – director of the center, said equipping the ventilator at the same time as the ambulances will help increase the patient’s chances of survival.

“Normally, every third ambulance in our region is equipped with a ventilator. I think that is a very important status that cannot be achieved everywhere. We fixed many successful cases during the COVID-19 pandemic. All cases must be mechanically ventilated during the time they are being rushed to the hospital by ambulance to continue treatment,“ Zabashta stressed.

The Kharkov Today commented that the COVID-19 epidemic made people keep their distance, but people’s hearts have come together. The breathing apparatus from Vietnam are the feeling of the Vietnamese people towards the patients and doctors in many countries to fight this epidemic.

“The ventilators will always be with the patients. Fully equipped ambulances will be sent immediately to the medical centers in Kharkov so no one has to worry,“ Zabashta said.

Vingroup experts began researching the technology needed to produce the machines and mass production of the ventilators began three months after the research and manufacturing of the ventilators was announced to fight against the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

The Vsmart VFS-510 ventilator's circulation was licensed by the Ministry of Health of Vietnam, meeting demands of treating severely infected patients, specially equipped for medical facilities during the COVID-19 pandemic. It not only proved VinGroup's efforts and dedication, but also highlighted the company's potentials and growth capabilities of technology in the future.

VinGroup gave the newly manufactured ventilators to Russia, Ukraine and Singapore, which all have close relations with VinGroup and Vietnam showing Vietnamese enterprise's corporate social responsibilities in the region and all over the world.
