At the foot of the Ngoc Linh mountain range are the villages of the Xo Dang ethnic group that still preserve many cultural identities. The terraced rice fields, the small villages lying on the hillside, and the wonderful views of nature are the significant things that make the charm of this destination.

There are wonderful natural sights for tourists to see such as the multi-tiered waterfall in Te Xang commune, Siu Puong waterfall, Dak Psi hydroelectric lake, terraced fields in Mang Ri commune and Dak Na commune, and Ba Khen Lake in Van Xuoi commune.

Besides, there are other interesting experiences such as visiting the ginseng and medicinal gardens on the high mountains and learning about the revolutionary history of the Kon Tum Provincial Party Committee base in Mang Ri.

Tu Mo Rong also has Ngoc Linh peak which is 2,500m high. It is a mountain stretching on the Truong Son range and located on the administrative boundaries of three provinces Kon Tum - Quang Nam - Quang Ngai. The pristine, mysterious, and dangerous beauty is very ideal for visitors to explore and conquer this majestic peak.

Unique specialties of Kon Tum

Kon Tum leaf salad (Goi La Kon Tum)

As the name suggests, this dish has only one dish but is covered with a tray of leaves. From familiar vegetables such as cabbage leaves, perilla leaves, fig leaves, apricot leaves, and basil leaves, to strange-tasting leaves such as mango leaves, guava leaves, sour leaves, five paprika, along with many kinds of special leaves in the highlands of the Central Highlands.

The side dishes with the leaves are boiled pork belly, a few slices of carp, boiled shrimp, and pork skin. Grilled young veal (Be Non Nuong)

This is one of the most famous delicious dishes in Kon Tum. The veal is soft and sweet, and fresh pieces of meat are grilled over charcoal and served with salt and chili, it’s delicious. The natural sweetness of the meat mixed with chili salt, the attractive aroma of basil, and the acrid taste of young bananas make the dish even more attractive.

Porcupine meat (Thit Nhim)

The B’Rau ethnic group in Kon Tum has many delicious dishes made from wild vegetables and animal meat. The most special is probably the porcupine meat dish, which is both delicious and nutritious and has many ways to prepare it. The people here most often make porcupine grilled with charcoal, porcupine bone soup cooked with cornstarch, and porcupine wrapped in dong leaves.
