VKBIA Strengthens Comprehensive Cooperation with Jeju, Korea

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and S.Korea, the delegation of Vietnam-Korea Businessmen and Investment Association (VKBIA) led by Tran Hai Linh, chairman of VKBIA visited Jeju province, RoK.
The delegation has carried out comprehensive cooperation signing activities for fields such as: education and training, development of qualified and skilled human resources, connection and recruitment of seasonal and skilled workers; strengthening Vietnam-RoK tourism development, contributing to economic recovery and development after the pandemic.
In education and training, VKBIA signed a memorandum of understanding on comprehensive cooperation with Jeju International University to train qualified human resources, skilled and knowledgeable in Korean culture and language.
This meets the needs of FDI enterprises, supporting industries, high-tech agricultural production and other fields that the two countries are in need of.
VKBIA and Jeju International University will simultaneously develop, build an education and training system. The system includes building educational programs, training teachers for Vietnam, specializing in Korean culture and language. It cooperates with universities and colleges in Vietnam as partners of VKBIA to develop training programs.
The system also sends lecturers to teach and sends Korean students to Vietnam for training.
Kang Cheoljoon, head of Jeju International University, said: "I hope that the cooperation between VKBIA and Jeju International University will bring about practical effects for the development between the two countries. It also contributes to cooperation in education and training, and the development of quality human resources."
In tourism development, VKIA signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement with Pacific Tour Inc., a large and experienced travel agency of Jeju province.
Before the Covid-19 pandemic, the company brought millions of foreign tourists to Jeju Island every year. The company has also brought many Korean tourists to other countries, including Vietnam.
VKBIA and Pacific Tour Inc. will carry out programs to develop and restore tourism between Vietnam, RoK and other countries.
Regarding labor recruitment, VKBIA has signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement with Taeyang Corporation of Jeju province in introducing and recruiting seasonal workers, skilled workers, and technical workers in agriculture, forestry and fishery; developing import and export cooperation of agricultural and aquatic products, wood products.

Tran Hai Linh said: “Vietnam and the RoK are making strong developments during the past 30 years. The two countries are preparing for the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (December 22, 1992 - December 22, 2022).
S.Korea is currently an important strategic cooperation partner of Vietnam and the two countries are pushing to take this relationship to a new level.
VKBIA will cooperate with units of Jeju province (Korea) to co-organize cultural programs and events, education-training cooperation, and create job opportunities.
They also expand opportunities for cooperation and investment from each other's members and partners, set up social support programs, strengthen tourism development, and cultural exchanges between Vietnam and the RoK.
Despite the Covid-19, the VKBIA has made important achievements, strengthens the exchange and cooperation between Vietnam and RoK agencies, organizations, businesses, entrepreneurs as well as Vietnam and other countries around the world. VKBIA contributes to Linking - accompanying - developing with other Vietnamese Union organizations abroad, to strengthening the great national unity bloc, jointly carrying out meaningful activities towards the homeland, to supporting economic recovery, socio-economic development between the two countries. |
