Young Vietnamese, Cambodian Border Guard Officers Exchange

On November 26, at the end of exchanges, talks and visits between young Vietnamese and Cambodian border officers in Kien Giang province, the Vietnam Border Guard High Command sent off a delegation of young Cambodian border guards to return home.
From November 22 to 26, the Vietnam Border Guard Command held an exchange of young Vietnamese - Cambodian border guards in Kien Giang with many activities such as sports activities, souvenir trees planting, and talks.
This is an opportunity for young Border Guard officers of the Border Guard Command of 10 border provinces of Vietnam and border guards of nine border provinces of Cambodia to exchange to further tighten the traditional bond. Thereby expressing the determination to further strengthen the coordination in management, preservation of border and landmarks, effectively fighting against various types of crimes, building a border of peace, friendship, cooperation and development.
The delegation of young Cambodian border guards visited scenic spots, historical sites, cultural relics, traditional production facilities in Phu Quoc city.
At the end of the activities, the two delegations had a cultural exchange and a reception at the Ha Tien International Border Gate Border Guard Station, the Kien Giang Border Guard.

The Vietnam Border Guard High Command held a talks between young Vietnamese and Cambodian border guard officers in the southern province of Kien Giang on November 22-23, as part of their first exchange, VNA reported.
The event was also meant to celebrate the 55th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties and the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Year 2022.
Deputy Political Commissar of the Vietnam Border Guard High Command Col. Nguyen Quoc Cuong said over the past 55 years, the two Parties, States and peoples have offered mutual support to gain national independence and foster stability and development in each country.
Lieut. Gen Tien Sophonrnvong from Cambodia hailed the two countries’ young border guard officers as a core and important force to realise cooperation contents between the Vietnam Border Guard High Command and Army Command of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces.

Notably, they actively engaged in exchanges between border guard commands of Vietnamese provinces and military sub-regions and border guard battalions of adjacent provinces of Cambodia.
Both sides shared information to fight illegal entries as well as offered timely material and spiritual support during the pandemic.
At the event, participants heard reports on coordination on performing the task of managing and protecting territorial sovereignty, national border security; and building a borderline of peace, friendship, cooperation and development; results and experiences of young officers in a programme to help children attend schools, and awareness about Vietnam-Cambodia.
They also shared expertise in areas under their watch and suggested several cooperation contents.
On November 23 morning, they joined a tree planting activity and presented a friendship garden to Linh Huynh border guard station in Kien Giang. In the afternoon, they played in a friendly volleyball match.

Lieutenant Soun Sokaun, a young Cambodian border guard officer, told Kien Giang newspaper's reporter: “This is the first time I have come to Kien Giang to exchange with Vietnamese border guards. I feel very happy to play volleyball with the guys."
Captain Nguyen Quan Minh, Deputy Captain of the Mass Mobilization Team, Tay Yen Border Guard Station (Kien Giang Border Guard Command) said: "I participated in the volleyball friendly match with the spirit of exchange and solidarity. I believe that this exchange will strengthen the solidarity and friendship between the border guards of the two countries."
