Thang Hen lake

Thang Hen Lake is the most popular tourist attraction in Tra Linh, Cao Bang. This is a freshwater lake complex located in Quoc Toan commune, Tra Linh district. This lake is about 30 km from the city center. The way is a bit far, visitors have to go through a pass to get there.

From the city center, visitors can follow National Highway 3, then continue on Provincial Road 205 to reach the left-hand turn. After that, they have to go to the Thang Hen lake eco-tourism area. Then, they will have to cross a pass about 10 km long to reach the lake. Their final destination is located at an altitude of about 1000 meters above sea level.

After a journey of more than 1 hour, visitors will reach the beautiful Thang Hen lake which is located in the middle of the mountains and forests. The scenery is breathtakingly beautiful. Thang Hen lake complex includes 36 large and small lakes. Among them, the largest lake in the center is the most beautiful. It has many names such as Thang Vat, Thang Loong, Na Ma, and Thang Hoi.

Thang Hen Lake is beautiful all year round. In spring, there are many blooming flowers around the lake. The summer climate is cool and pleasant. Autumn is the time when the leaves around the lake turn yellow. When winter comes, the lake water recedes, and the air becomes colder.

God's Eye Mountain

God's Eye Mountain is also a destination in Tra Linh Cao Bang that attracts many visitors every year. This place is also known as Perforated Mountain. It is located in Ban Danh hamlet, Quoc Toan commune, and in the Thang Hen lake complex. Therefore, visitors can easily explore both places.

To explore this entire destination, visitors should go by motorbike to cross the beautiful roads before reaching the mountain. Right at the top of the mountain, there is a cave that is like an "eye" with a diameter of about 50 meters, wide enough for anyone to see from afar. Many young people liken this mountain to a small corner of Mongolia because of the vast green grasslands.

It can be said that God's Eye is one of the most unique mountains in Vietnam. Surrounding the mountain is a population of lower mountains, forests, and far away is a clear lake. Regardless of the season of the year, this place is very beautiful and peaceful. Here, people will encounter herds of horses and cows leisurely grazing on the green prairie.

September - October every year is the most ideal season to come here. In this season, the water around the lake often recedes, revealing the fresh, cool, and poetic natural scenery.

Ma Phuc Pass

One of the most attractive destinations in Tra Linh Cao Bang today is Ma Phuc Pass. This pass is also located in Quoc Toan commune, about 700 meters above sea level.

It is also known as the 7-story pass. Here, visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful and majestic scenery of Cao Bang province. On one side, there are craggy mountains, and on the other side is a deep abyss. Therefore, visitors need to be very careful and focused and keep a moderate speed when they cross the pass.

In the summer, there is often fog on the pass in the early morning which creates a fanciful picture. In winter it is quite cold here. On the contrary, when spring comes, the trees are green and the fresh air is much more pleasant.

The total length of the Ma Phuc pass is only about 3.5 km, so the journey on the pass is not too long. From a high position, they will have a full view of the pass. Visitors can admire the majestic mountains of Cao Bang. In addition, they can stand at the top of the pass to look back at the entire pass zigzagging like a giant python wandering among the forests. This beautiful and safe pass is the pride of the Cao Bang people.
