On the afternoon of December 26, in Quang Ninh’s Cam Pha City, Ao Dai Festival themed "Quang Ninh 2020: Heritage Land" officially took place. This was one of the cultural and commercial events organized to attract more visitors to the coastal province, according to VOV.

The event, held by the Quang Ninh provincial Department of Culture and Sport in coordination with Cam Pha City People’s Committee, attracted the participation of more than 100 artists and models from Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Hue, and Da Lat.

Ao Dai Festival "Quang Ninh 2020: Heritage Land" showcases 17 unique Ao Dai collections of 18 famous domestic designers. Each ao dai is a story about the heritages and iconic cultural features of Quang Ninh province such as a sail on the sea, Yen Tu bamboo forest, or Van Don commercial port. In addition, coming to the festival, tourists have the opportunity to watch unique contemporary folk dance performances.

Bringing to the festival the collection named "Legend of Ha Long Bay", renowned designer Lan Huong said that “Ha Long Bay is a peaceful wonder. Through my collection, I would like to convey the message to domestic and international fashion lovers that we need to be grateful to Mother Nature”.

The stage of Ao Dai Festival 2020 is set up right on Bai Tu Long Bay that makes it look even more sparkling and magical, creating inspiration for more than 100 models, artists, and singers to perform.

This is the very first time that such an Ao Dai Festival has been held in Quang Ninh with a view to honoring the traditional values as well as promoting the heritages of Quang Ninh, thereby defining a land with unique cultural traits and great tourism potential.

A festival participant said that “I feel so proud that Vietnamese ao dai is not only introduced within the province, the country but also to the world. I am deeply impressed by the Ao dai performances today”.

Ao Dai Festival "Quang Ninh 2020: Heritage Land" is also a part of activities under the overall project on the management and development of tourism products in Ha Long Bay - Bai Tu Long Bay - Van Don - Co To, contributing to creating a diverse tourism product system, bringing new experiences to visitors when coming to Quang Ninh.

Deputy Director of Quang Ninh Department of Culture and Sports Tran Tien Dung said that the Ao dai festival is expected to become an annual event, helping to promote Vietnamese identity to domestic and international tourists.
