Association of Vietnamese Students In Germany Holds Successful Summer Camp
This event is an opportunity for Vietnamese students who are studying and working in Germany to strengthen solidarity, share experiences and support each other in study, research or event in daily life.
The 2022 Summer Camp in Hamburg was organized with a variety of useful and interesting activities, attracting the participation of representatives under some organizations and associations; Professor Thomas Engelbert from the University of Hamburg; donors and hundreds of Vietnamese students from cities across Germany.

Speaking at the opening of the 2022 Summer Camp, Trinh Hoang Long, the SiviDuc President, said that this summer camp was held to mark the 10th anniversary of the establishment of The Association of Vietnamese Students in Germany. It has been considered an inclusive forum and one of the legal representative for Vietnamese students studying and working in Germany. SiviDuc is also a founding member of the Union of Vietnamese Youth and Students in Europe and a member of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.
Due to COVID-19 pandemic, SiviDuc has suffered from drawbacks in engaging activities and face-to-face exchanges. Therefore, the plan of the 2022 Summer Camp is developed properly with practical and useful activities for participants. The SiviDuc President also promised that in the near future, the Association's leaders will try its best to attract more forces to expand the network of branches in Germany.

On behalf of the Embassy, Ambassador Vu Quang Minh appreciated SiviDuc's cooperation with SiviHamburg to organize a useful playground for Vietnamese students in Germany after years of interruption due to the pandemic. The Ambassador expressed his impression with the activities of the Vietnamese Student Association in Germany over the past time to provide practical assistance to the Vietnamese student community in Germany.
According to Ambassador Vu Quang Minh, in meetings with German leaders, they all appreciated the learning ability as well as the learning outcomes of Vietnamese students and expressed their desire to promote cooperation with Vietnam to send young people to vocational training as well as to attract skilled labor force to work in Germany in the context of Germany's lack of human resources.
The diplomat expressed his hope that young people and students always aimed at enhancing the cohesion and strength of the Vietnamese people community in Germany, contributing to the construction and development of the country's homeland as well as further promoting the strategic partnership between Vietnam and Germany.

In addition, within the framework of this inaugural event, there was also a debate contest demonstrating the confidence, understanding, critical thinking and presentation ability of the participants. The Cultural and Arts Gala Night, held at the Hamburg Palace of Culture was the most expected event of the Summer Camp, attracting the participation of about 300 students.
According to Phan Quang Van, First Secretary in charge of educational cooperation and management of overseas students, the student summer camp was resumed after a long time of COVID-19 pandemic. It contributes to spreading the movement of learning and research in science and health training. These useful activities aimed at spreading the spirit of healthy youth, promoting and encouraging the spirit of learning, scientific research and entrepreneurial creativity for a future career. The activities also contribute to strengthening solidarity, towards building a stronger Vietnamese community in Germany.
