Bars, karaoke parlors in HCMC City ignore regulations on Covid-19 prevention and control

Despite Ho Chi Minh City’s Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control ordering bars, karaoke parlors and discotheques to halt operations starting April 30, many have clearly ignored the rules, according to a VCT News report on May 2, with many venues on Pham Van Dong Street (Go Vap District) disregarding the ruling.

Since last Thursday, HCMC has recorded only one coronavirus case associated with a man who returned from Japan and tested positive after completing a two-week centralized quarantine in Da Nang City.
Nationwide, Vietnam has recorded 24 new cases since April 29 located in Hanoi, HCMC, northern Ha Nam, Hung Yen, and Vinh Phuc provinces, following over a month with no community transmissions.
Vietnam's total coronavirus tally stands at 2,962, with 35 deaths.
