Binh Dinh Union of Friendship Organizations Work to Enhance People-to-people Ties
The Union of Friendship Organizations of Binh Dinh province has many responsibilities such as sponsoring Lao students studying in Binh Dinh; organizing a training conference on people's foreign affairs; connecting with foreign non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to mobilize funding to promote provincial socio-economic development.
According to a report of the Binh Dinh Union of Friendship Organizations, in recent years, people-to-people diplomatic relations have been focused by Binh Dinh province, which is clearly shown through impressive results.

With nearly 23 years of experience in operation and 6 member organizations that are friendship associations with Laos, Japan, France, Korea, New Zealand, Cambodia, the staff of the Binh Dinh Union of Friendship Organizations, leaders and members of enthusiastic and responsible member organizations have held many meaningful and practical activities such as meeting marking the French National Day; summer volunteer activities for Vietnamese and Lao students studying in Binh Dinh.
At the same time, sponsoring Lao students studying in the province; deploying the movement to encourage students to team up and learn; cooperating with Japan's Aomori Chuo Gakuin University to select students to study abroad in Japan.
The Binh Dinh Union of Friendship Organizations also worked with authorities to prioritize vaccination against Covid-19 for employees of NGOs operating in Binh Dinh and Lao students studying in Binh Dinh; handing over teaching equipment and outdoor toys to Vinh An Kindergarten, Tay Son district; holding a training conference on people-to-people diplomatic affairs.
In 2022, units and localities in the province have received and implemented 25 programs, projects and non-projects of foreign NGOs, with a total disbursement value of about USD 2.5 million. In the first quarter of 2023, the province has 12 foreign non-governmental projects and projects that have been implemented, focusing on the fields of health, education, natural resources and environment, science and technology, agriculture and rural development.

In the first 6 months of 2023, the Binh Dinh Union of Friendship Organizations held a meeting with Lao students on the occasion of the Lunar New Year; and coordinated with related units to organize three trips for Lao students studying at local universities and colleges to visit a number of scenic spots, historical and cultural relics, and learn more information about the socio-economic situation of Quy Nhon city, Tay Son and Tuy Phuoc districts.
In the coming time, the Provincial Friendship Union has developed a plan to coordinate with member associations to host activities on the occasion of the national day anniversaries, their traditional New Year festivals, and major events marking relations between Vietnam and other countries.
The Binh Dinh Union of Friendship Organizations has properly implemented the motto of people-to-people diplomacy "Active, flexible, creative and effective," successfully completed the set tasks, and expanded foreign relations. and mobilize external resources, contributing to realizing the goal of bringing Binh Dinh to a green, sustainable, and comprehensive development, strengthening the friendship between the Vietnamese people and people around the world.
