At the handover ceremony, the Ambassador of Vietnam to Cambodia Vu Quang Minh accepted US$ 50,000 from the Cambodia – Vietnam Friendship Association in support of the people of Vietnam to battle Covid and US$ 100,000 from the Cambodian Red Cross to the Vietnamese Red Cross.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minh expressed his appreciation for Cambodia’s valuable and prompt support for Vietnam in this challenging time. The ambassador emphasized that Cambodia continued to assist Vietnam although the country was facing negative impacts of the pandemic. This shows the deep sentiments that the government and people of Cambodia give to Vietnam; it is the liveliest evidence of the solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia.

Via the Embassy of Vietnam in Cambodia, Men Sam An, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia cum President of the Cambodia – Vietnam Friendship Association, and Pum Chantinie, Secretary-General of the Cambodia Red Cross, sent words of encouragement to the Vietnam – Cambodia Friendship Association and Vietnam Red Cross.

The leaders of the Cambodia- Vietnam Friendship Association and Cambodia Red Cross also expressed their hope that Vietnam and Cambodia would continue to work closely in preventing the pandemic from spreading to control Covid soon, creating favorable conditions to boost cooperation and exchange between the governments and peoples of both countries.

Previously, Men Sam An sent a letter to Vice President of the Vietnam – Cambodia Friendship Association Vu Vuong Viet on July 17.

In the letter, on behalf of the Cambodia – Vietnam Friendship Association, An expressed her sincere appreciation toward the continued support of the Vietnam – Cambodia Friendship Association for Cambodia in fighting against Covid, via the Cambodia – Vietnam Friendship Association.

Cambodia – Vietnam Friendship Association extended their condolences to Covid-19 victims in the epicenter Ho Chi Minh City. Through the Vietnam – Cambodia Friendship Association, the Cambodia – Vietnam Friendship Association sent US$ 50,000 to help the people of Vietnam battle Covid.

“This symbolizes the sentiments of the people of Cambodia for Vietnam and their support in this challenging time. It shows the friendship and solidarity between the two associations,” the President of the Cambodia – Vietnam Friendship Association said.
