No fresh case recorded, 130 patients tested negative from 1 to 3 times
The National Steering Committee for the Prevention and Control of COVID-19's 6 am
news on August 23 states that no new cases of COVID-19 have been reported. Among patients on treatment, there are currently 130 cases 1-3 times negative for SARS-CoV-2.
As of 6 a.m. on August 23, Vietnam had a total of 672 cases of COVID-19 due to community infections, of which the number of new cases related to Da Nang from July 25 to now is 532.
The total number of people being monitored for health (quarantine) is 77,380, of which:
- Concentrated isolation at the hospital: 2,095
- Concentrated isolation at other establishments: 19,808
- Self-isolation: 50,477
The National Steering Committee for the Prevention and Control of COVID-19 said that up to this point, 563/1014 COVID-19 patients in Vietnam were declared cured.
As of the morning of August 23, among the COVID-19 patients undergoing treatment, the number of first-time negative cases for SARS-CoV-2 was 40; The number of negative cases for the second time with SARS-CoV-2 was 49, the number of third negative cases was 41.
COVID-19 claims one more life, death toll reaches 26
On the evening of August 22, the Ministry of Health informed about the death of a COVID-19 patient at Hoa Vang Medical Center (Da Nang). The person who died was patient 666, 93 years old, from Thanh Khe - Da Nang City. His background illness includes heart failure, atrial fibrillation; hypertension; chronic kidney failure; dementia.
The 93-year-old man died at 17:20 on August 22 with a diagnosis of septic shock, multi-organ failure, complications of vascular necrosis of the right leg due to embolism in patients with COVID-19 pneumonia, with a history of hypertension, heart failure, atrial fibrillation, chronic kidney failure, dementia.

Hanoi to strictly fine restaurants, decoys, motorbike taxies outside hospital gates
On August 22, the Steering Committee for COVID-19 prevention in Hanoi had a meeting with the Health Department of the Ministries and representatives of hospitals in the area. Facing the situation of shops, decoys, motorbike taxi gathering outside the hospital gate, Hanoi City People's Committee said it would suggest districts to coordinate with hospitals to handle.
The representatives of the hospitals also petitioned the People's Committee of Hanoi City, the Department of Health to handle the situation of many restaurants, patient services or shopping malls in the hospital gate area, where the state of public insecurity COVID-19 epidemic prevention.
Besides, many restaurants still operate from early morning to night. The hospital, although desperately wanted to relieve it, was not competent enough. In addition, a large number of patient decoys are still active around the hospital. These people also wear uniforms and tell patients not to go to the hospital because there are many diseases, cited by Gia Dinh News.
Dr. Tran Danh Cuong said: "The situation of blatant storks cannot be completely handled because they are not afraid of local government sanctions. There should be instructions for the hospital to coordinate and completely resolve the above situation because we cannot control whether they carry the virus or not."

PM: The outbreak in Hai Duong is under control
On the morning of August 22, the working group of the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 prevention was led by Mr. Do Xuan Tuyen, Deputy Minister of Health, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the National Steering Committee for COVID -19 The leader of the delegation had a working session with Hai Duong on COVID-19 prevention in the province.
Speaking at the meeting, comrade Nguyen Manh Hien - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People's Council affirmed that, since the pandemic appeared, especially when the first cases were detected in the community. The province, all levels of Party committees and authorities in Hai Duong have urgently joined in, drastically directing the implementation of pandemic prevention measures to limit the spread of disease in the community.
After discussion, Deputy Minister Do Xuan Tuyen said that the current pandemic situation in Hai Duong, especially the 36 Ngo Quyen outbreak, has basically been controlled. However, the epidemic situation is still complicated and in the community always lies a potential risk of illness.
