Dancers of Vietnam's Northwest Region Impress Swiss Audiences
Impressive, unique, and rich in cultural identity - these are the main comments of viewers after a performance rich in the arts of the Northwest region in the event celebrating the 78th anniversary of the National Day (September 2) in Switzerland.
The event organized by the Permanent Delegation of Vietnam to the United Nations (UN), World Trade Organization (WTO), and other international organizations in Geneva brought exciting art shows imbued with the identities of the ethnic groups in the Northwest highlands of Vietnam, along with a photo exhibition introducing the lives of the people here.
The opening dance performances of the Mong ethnic people and White Thai ethnic people brought to viewers stories about Northwestern life, images of children and young ethnic people who are honest, simple, and love working. The entire auditorium also had quiet moments when enjoying the dance and songs.
Guests also enjoy the jubilant atmosphere of unique performances of Lion dance and traditional Vietnamese martial arts by Vietnamese martial arts groups in Switzerland, consisting of young Vietnamese and Swiss performers.

Ambassador Le Thi Tuyet Mai, head of the Permanent Delegation of Vietnam, said that on the occasion of celebrating National Day, the delegation wishes to introduce to international friends the images of the homeland and its warm heart. of Vietnamese people, as well as Vietnam's socio-economic development process.
She was very honored to welcome a delegation from Dien Bien province, coming here with cultural performances imbued with the identities of many ethnic minorities in the Northwest highlands, thereby helping the world by introducing unique dances, clear images of the lives of our people, as well as the development process of building solidarity between ethnic groups in Vietnam.

Ambassador Le Thi Tuyet Mai expressed her sincere thanks to the host country and other countries, international organizations, and delegations in Geneva for giving Vietnam valuable support and cooperation in these activities last year.

At the event, Huynh Denise Dung, vice president of the Vietnamese Association in Switzerland, expressed her admiration when seeing the elaborate performance. The diplomat and her husband have been away from the homeland for decades, but today, watching such unique performances, her heart turns to the roots, to her homeland. She's happy to see Vietnam developing rapidly since gaining independence and unifying the whole country.
Meanwhile, Chris Young, an employee of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), shared that he's impressed with the program. The performances were really special as they helped him understand more about Vietnam's culture. He hopes to soon be able to arrange a time and work to come to Vietnam and explore the beautiful country.
This year's cultural and artistic event celebrates National Day in Geneva including photo exhibitions, introducing the country's landscape, culture, religion, ethnicity, and economic development achievements along with unique cuisine.
In addition, Vietnam's Delegation in Geneva also introduced and displayed handicrafts and agricultural products of Dien Bien province and some regions, as well as fabric animal products made by people with disabilities of KymViet company.
