Enjoy a Peaceful Spring Trip to the Sacred Land of Tay Ninh
Tay Ninh – The sacred land of religion and beliefs
Tay Ninh is known as a deeply spiritual place in Vietnam. You must visit Tay Ninh at least once in your life and experience the 5 main local religions. Nearly 70% of the people living here are religious. For Buddhists from all over the world, Black Virgin Mountain (Nui Ba Den) is the place where the spirits of heaven and earth converge with the sacred legends of Linh Son Thanh Mau.
The Ba Den Mountain is a part of the Nui Ba Historical and Cultural Complex in Tay Ninh, Vietnam, which is famous for its artless scenery and mysterious tales.
This is the highest mountain in the southeastern part of Vietnam. Located 11km to the Northeast of Tay Ninh City, Ba Den Mountain is 986m high; it is the symbol of the people and the land of Tay Ninh.
Many researchers consider Ba Den Mountain to be the birthplace of the custom of worshiping the Mother Goddess in the Southern resident community. As for the indigenous people, Ba Temple 300 years old and associated with the legends of Ba Den is an extremely sacred temple, always bringing health and peace to other local people. Taking place from the 4th to 16th day of the first lunar month, Ba Den Mountain Spring Festival is the biggest and most important festival for Tay Ninh people, attracting millions of visitors and Buddhists from all over the world.
Not only famous for Ba Den Mountain but Tay Ninh is also known as the holy land because it is considered the origin of the Cao Dai religion in Vietnam, and the location of the beautiful Cao Dai temple. Built more 100 years ago, the temple is a unique, magnificent and artistic architecture, and still its ancient beauty through time.
Generally, there are about 100 architectural works around the site connected by wide roads, which makes Tay Ninh Holy See among the largest ones in the world. Standing splendidly on the site is the Toa Thanh Temple which is 140 meters long and 40 meters wide. On the outside, the temple is painted with a sacred yellow color and decorated with many intricate designs of stairs and windows. The temple is supported by many solid dragon-sculptured pillars and two impressive 2 belfries (36 meters high each), a pleasing combination of European and Asian structures.
Exploiting tourism through spiritual culture
Ba Den Mountain and Holy See have been symbols of Tay Ninh's culture and spirituality for centuries, but it is still only a source of insidious flow in the lifestyle and spiritual activities of the Southern people. Since 2020, when Sun Group inaugurated a magnificent and large-scale spiritual complex on Ba Den Peak, spiritual culture has really become a typical tourism product that attracts millions of visitors to Tay Ninh, turning it into one of the most attractive places to see in Vietnam.
In 2019, the number of visitors to Tay Ninh reached just over 2 million people. In 2022, it welcomes more than 4.5 million visitors. Especially during the 2022 Lunar New Year, Tay Ninh leads the country in the number of visitors, far exceeding famous capital destinations such as Quang Ninh, Phu Quoc, and Da Nang.
This year, visitors can go up to Ba Den mountain to worship conveniently as the cable car to the top of the mountain is open from 5 am to 10 pm daily, and the complex of Nui Ba pagodas will be open 22 hours a day.
