Le Thi Thu Hang, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and chairwoman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese (NVNONN) attended and gave a speech.

Attending the launching ceremony were Pham Quang Hieu, Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan, Nguyen Duc Minh, Ambassador of the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, and The Embassy's Community Affairs Committee, with representatives of Vietnamese associations, teachers, parents, and students.

Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu said that supporting, accompanying, and encouraging the community to maintain cultural identity and preserve the Vietnamese language is one of the focuses of the Embassy's work. The Embassy and the Community Work Board always care and support teachers and Vietnamese language centers to promote and preserve Vietnamese for generations of Vietnamese children in Japan.

Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu proposed that the Vietnamese community in Japan be more active in the Vietnamese language teaching and learning movement. To achieve this, he hoped teachers to invest more in researching study courses suitable for children living in Japan.

Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang highly appreciated associations in Japan that have activities connecting Vietnamese people at home and abroad and strive to contribute with a sense of responsibility and love for the homeland. She hopes that every family and community will preserve the Vietnamese language and nurture in the hearts of children the original culture of their Ancestors.

She also informed that in 2022, the Government approved the Project to Honor Vietnamese Language in the Vietnamese Language Community, which promotes many activities such as organizing competitions to find Vietnamese Ambassadors abroad, building bookcases, and providing Vietnamese textbooks, among others.

Presenting Vietnamese books to teachers and students, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang affirmed that the Committee will accompany the Vietnamese community in Japan by providing textbooks and organizing training courses on Vietnamese language teaching skills for teachers and volunteers. She believes that there will be Vietnamese Ambassadors of the community in Japan present at the final night of "Searching for Vietnamese Ambassadors" on September 8 in Hanoi.

On the same day, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang had a working session with representatives of 10 Vietnamese associations in Japan, including the Union of Vietnamese Associations, the Union of Vietnamese Women's Associations, Women's Union, Vietnamese Buddhist Association, Vietnam-Japan Startup Business Association, Vietnam-Japan International Exchange Organization, and Vietnamese Association in Kansai, Osaka, and Saitama.

Representatives of the associations' leaders informed about the activities, including supporting each other to overcome difficulties, integrating into the society, maintaining the Vietnamese language and national cultural identity, and supporting local people affected by natural disasters.

Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang praised the contributions of the Vietnamese community in Japan in connecting and supporting each other, maintaining cultural identity, and preserving the Vietnamese language. She emphasized that with the strong relationship between the two countries, the Vietnamese community in Japan has many favorable conditions to live, study, and work in the country.

Therefore, the Vietnamese community in Japan is constantly growing, and strengthening its role and position in Japan’s society.

Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang requested that the Vietnamese community in Japan continue to participate in and accompany activities organized by the Embassy and the State Committee on Foreign Affairs. Participating in these activities and contributing constructive opinions will help domestic agencies research and make policies, especially in mobilizing intellectual resources to meet the country's requirements and development goals.

In the future, the Committee will motivate and encourage the Vietnamese community in Japan, being cultural messengers, and bridges of friendship to build a strong partnership between Vietnam and Japan.
