Vu Thuc Hue, 77 years old, living in Beijing, wrote in the condolence book for General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong at the Vietnamese Embassy in Beijing on July 26.

She is Vu Thuc Hue, 77 years old, living in Beijing. Previously, she worked as a nurse at the Guilin Nanxishan Hospital (Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China) under the Ministry of Health of China. This hospital used to treat wounded soldiers from South Vietnam, mid- and high-ranking officials in localities of Vietnam. About two months ago, she came to Vietnam to attend the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory.

"When I received the news of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's passing through the China-Vietnam Friendship Association, I felt extremely sad. Since I heard the news, I have always followed the news about the General Secretary. With all my heart, I decided to go to the Vietnamese Embassy in Beijing to pay my respects to him," Hue said.

"Because my house is about 20 km from the Vietnamese Embassy in Beijing, traffic jams are common on Fridays, it rained heavily last night and the road was slippery, so I had to get up early. I left at 10 minutes to 7 and arrived at 8:40.

On the way to pay my respects to the General Secretary, I carried with me gratitude and respect. He devoted himself to the friendship and sustainable development of the two countries of China and Vietnam. The distance from my house to the Embassy is not only geographical but also a journey of the heart, carrying my most sincere feelings to bid him farewell."

Previously, on July 25, in Hanoi, in the group of people waiting to pay their respects to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, there was also a Laotian in her 20s. Talking about General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, she said he was an important person to the Vietnamese people and the Lao people. "When he was alive, he supported the Lao people. When he passed away, like the Laos people, I felt sad and sorry for him," she said, adding that Laos also organized a two-day national mourning to commemorate General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
