“Just suffering from the historic flooding, we understand difficulties that people in Thanh Chuong district, Nghe An are experiencing. We decide to cook banh duc to send them as soon as possible“, Ms. Le Thi Huyen, a resident of Quoc Tien village, Cam Due commune was quoted by VTC News as saying.
“Everyone works around the clock to ensure banh duc reach the affected areas at the earliest as we acknowledge that people there are really in need of food”, said Mr. Nguyen Van Vinh, an inhabitant of Quoc Tien village.

“As of November 1, many banh duc have been made and sent to Nghe An. We feel tired but happy since we know what we are doing is meaningful”, Mr. Nguyen Van Nam, a participant said.
Earlier, people in many places nationwide also cook banh chung, a square-shaped pack of sticky rice with meat and bean fillings wrapped in green leaves usually made for Tet (the Lunar New Year) for people suffering from the historic floods in central Vietnam. The campaign attracts the participation of many people including both youngsters and the elder.
