Accordingly, the Hanoi People's Committee donated 150,000 masks to the Ile de France region; Dong Da District presented 30,000 antibacterial masks to Choisi-le-Roi city and Hoan Kiem District presented 20,000 antibacterial masks to the city of Toulouse.
All of the face masks were manufactured by Vietnamese businesses and meet the high-quality standards set by the Vietnamese Ministry of Health and have since obtained the necessary CE marking in line with European standards.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung underlined that strengthening international cooperation and unity is an important factor in curbing the spread and impact of the pandemic in each country and region.
French Ambassador to Vietnam Nicholas Warnery expressed his gratitude for the support from Hanoi authorities and people to their French counterparts, and voiced his belief that the two countries will triumph in the fight against the pandemic.
Statistically, France has been one of the countries hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic with the number of confirmed cases reaching 142,411 with 28,108 fatalities as of May 18.
Not just France, last week, Hanoi also has presented 100,000 antimicrobial cloth masks and 50,000 medical masks, all made-in-Vietnam, to help the Russian capital of Moscow and the Vietnamese community in the country in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic./.
