The Ministry asked citizens to stay vigilant against Covid-19. In case of detecting illegal entrants, it’s necessary to immediately report to the local authorities to timely handle, Vnexpress reported.

Residents were also required to strictly comply with the 5K message: Khau trang (facemask)- (Khu khuan) disinfection- (Khoang cach) distance- (Khong tu tap) no gathering – (Khai bao y te) health declaration.

The Covid-19 situations in countries in the region and the world have complicatedly developed, with a surge in new cases and deaths.

Vietnam has also discovered illegal entrants over the past time.

The Ho Chi Minh City Pasteur Institute on Sunday confirmed that 85.7% of infected samples taken from imported Covid-19 cases from Cambodia contain the U.K. variant, and 14.3% have the South African variant.

Tran Dac Phu, senior advisor to the Health Ministry’s Public Health Emergency Operations Centre warned of a Covid-19 outbreak due to the increasing demand for travel during the national holidays. The Covid-19 crisis that India, Cambodia and Laos have experienced was due to negligence, failing to wear face masks and the organization of festivals with crowded people, he added.

India, the world’s current Covid-19 epicenter, has reported 323.000 new cases over the past 24 hours. Laos, on April 26 afternoon, for the first time, reported additional 113 cases. The tally of infections in Cambodia surpassed 10.000, with more than 580 cases on April 26. Two cities of Phnom Penh and Ta Khmao have been placed under lockdown. Since the beginning of this month, Bangkok capital city (Thailand) has logged 9.076 cases. The local authorities ordered citizens to don face masks in public spaces and 31 business types to shut down.

Over the two weeks, Vietnam has ramped up the control in the Southwestern border provinces, established field hospitals and enhance the testing capacity in these areas.

Vietnam has gone more than one month without any community transmissions. However, the country is running a high risk of a new Covid-19 outbreak triggered by either imported or local sources, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam says.
