How a Vietnamese Photographer Sees Prague

Tomas Ha, a Vietnamese photographer living and working in the Czech Republic, has perfectly captured the beauty of Prague, the most beautiful city in the world through his camera lens.

Prague, the capital city of the Czech Republic, was voted by Time Out magazine as the most beautiful city in the world in 2021.

These photographs were captured in December by Tomas Ha, a Vietnamese photographer living and working in Prague when the snow of the wintertime falls on the city.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and travel restrictions, the Christmas atmosphere in the Czech Republic and other countries in Europe become much quieter. Lots of Christmas markets are closed because of the ongoing threats of Omicron, the new variant. However, this does not deem the charming and ancient beauty of Prague, one of the most favorite European tourist attractions.

In September, Time Out magazine has released a list of the most beautiful cities in the world, according to votes from experts and 27.000 global people from different cities. Prague made itself to the top with 83 percent of the votes.

At any time of the year, this city, which is named “The golden city” or “The most ancient attraction of Europe” never ceases to make tourists fall in love with its charming and glamourous look.

Prague is the largest city in the country and is also known as “The City of Hundred Spires” since it has more than 340 spires, towers, turrets, and steeples. Standing on top of a tall building, you will be able to see the numerous spires, ancient churches, and historical sites of the city.

A lot of people compare the city to a “hidden gem” of Europe. In the picture above, it is the sight of Charles Bridge, a popular tourist attraction, which crosses the longest river, Vltava. Ha has captured this beautiful moment of the bridge in the morning fog of an autumn day.

Before the pandemic, the bridge was always full of tourists and local people.

Prague is the 15th largest city in the European Union with a population of over 1,3 million people. Some of the most famous tourist spots are Prague Castle, Charles Bridge, the Mala Strana area, ancient streets, underground nightclubs, and spring festivals.

The picture below shows the famous Dancing House. Located between other Gothic and Baroque buildings built in 18 and 19th centuries, Dancing House stands out with its traditional, classic architectural designs.

In the picture above, it is the sight of Prague castle that was built in the 9th century. According to the Guinness Book of Records, this is the largest castle in the world, with an area of 70,000 m2, 570 m long, and 130 m wide on average. It is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the capital, attracting more than 1,8 million people each year before the pandemic.
