Direct flight from Kunming to Hue

The first international flight to Terminal T2 - Phu Bai International Airport connecting Kunming city, China with Thua Thien Hue province, is made in the form of the charter with 230 passengers, landing at 3:20 am on the morning of July 2.

At the international arrivals hall, leaders of Thua Thien Hue Provincial People's Committee, Department of Tourism, representatives of Phu Bai International Airport, and Vietjet Air welcomed, and presented flowers and souvenirs to passengers.

Tourists on the flight to Hue will experience the unique cuisine here. They will discover cultural values, natural landscapes, people, famous monuments, and landmarks in Thua Thien Hue, and neighboring destinations such as Da Nang and Quang Nam.

Thua Thien Hue province has preferential policies for travel agencies and tourists, such as a 50% discount on tickets to Hue monuments, a welcome music performance program, and giving flowers and gifts to the delegation at Ngo Mon Gate, Hue Citadel.

Nguyen Van Phuc, director of the Thua Thien Hue Department of Tourism, said that this is the result of the efforts of the authorities of Thua Thien Hue province, the tourism industry, and related industries, with the coordination of Vietjet Air, travel agencies.

They promoted to bring the first international flight, after more than 2 months since Terminal T2 - Phu Bai International Airport came into operation.

“The plan of the tour operator with Vietjet from the beginning of July to the end of October is that every month, there will be 4-6 flights to bring passengers from Kunming city, as well as some Chinese cities to Hue. There will be an experience program in Hue, neighboring provinces and cities such as Da Nang and Quang Nam within 6 days," said Nguyen Van Phuc.

Thua Thien Hue promotes the opening of domestic and international routes

In the first 6 months of this year, the number of visitors to Thua Thien Hue province is estimated at more than 1,640,000 arrivals, the total revenue from tourism is estimated at VND 3,500 billion (US $147,9 million).

According to the plan, this year, the tourism industry of Thua Thien Hue province strives to welcome about 3-3.5 million visitors, of which domestic tourists account for about 70%-80%, total tourism revenue is about VND 6,000 - 7,000 billion (US $253,5 - US$ 295,8 million).

Currently, Thua Thien Hue province is well prepared to organize festival activities within the framework of Hue Festival 2023, with the focus on "Hue in Autumn" and "Winter in Hue."

The province promotes and introduces Hue tourism, and cultural identity to attract tourists. The People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province is working with Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet to promote the opening of domestic and international routes to Hue.

Truong Thanh Minh, director of the Information Center for Tourism Promotion said "In terms of flight promotion, the province approaches partners to develop routes from Malaysia - Hue, Osaka - Hue and Incheon - Hue, and in a few years, Bangkok and Taiwan will be added.

As for tourism promotion, we focus on inviting external travel partners to survey and re-evaluate destinations for future products and services."
