The new block, completed in less than five months, will accommodate 25 senior citizens and will be a modest contribution from India to the commune’s socio-economic development efforts.
India has a Revolving Fund with an annual contribution of USD 250,000 for Quick Impact Projects in Vietnam for development of community infrastructure under the Mekong Ganga Cooperation framework. So far, ten Quick Impact Projects have been completed since 2017, while four new projects are under implementation.
Before the ceremony, the delegation of Indian Embasssy to Vietnam, led by Ambassador Verma also met with Secretary of Quang Ninh Provincial Party’s Committee cum Chairman of Provincial People’s Council, Nguyen Xuan Ky.
The work was started in January, after more than 5 months of construction, so far the project has been completed with a new construction of 1-storey residential area with 5 self-contained rooms and auxiliary works, covering an area of over 250m2. |
At the reception, Ky expressed his delight at the development of cooperation relationship between Vietnam and India and hoped that Ambassador Verma’s working visit would be a brigde to attract more Indian groups and investors to invest in Quang Ninh as well as connect India’s famous universities to open online hightech training courses for the province.
The Secretary also suggested the opening of a direct flight from New Delhi capital to Van Don International Airport, thereby promoting tourism activties between the two countries.
For his part, Verma talked about potential and advantages of India that may make good cooperation possibilities between the two sides. For instance, the Indian investors are looking for location of investing information technology complex and pharmaceutical manufacture center. In addition, Ha Long Bay with magnificient scenery would be a great location for Indian Bollywood to make famous movies and this can be a good opportunity for Quang Ninh tourism promotion.
The Indian Ambassador affirmed that Quang Ninh was really a great place to hold international cultural events. Therefore, Indian Embasssy will closely coordinate with Quang Ninh province and Vietnamese authorities so that the International Yoga Day could be held as soon as possible.
Having said that, the Ambassador affirmed that he would do his best to strengthen the cooperation relationship between India and Vietnam in general and with Quang Ninh in particular./.
