"For a Vietnam that will surely win" is a painting and literature contest to raise funds for children with cancer, Agent Orange disabilities, autism, or orphans which took place from August 8 to October 2021.

Indian artist Karishma, who experiences Down syndrome herself, donated three paintings to the contest.

The contest has attracted the participation of thousands of "child fighters" from all over Vietnam, who share their hope and dreams despite their difficult health condition.

Money gained by selling paintings will be used to support the disadvantaged children's future.

Karishma started painting more than 10 years ago and has always been impressed with the vibrant natural scenes.

Through her paintings, the artist hopes to spread positive energy to help children overcome all difficulties and challenges, and aim for better things in life.

She said: "I am very happy that the contest has facilitated me to do this meaningful work. I hope my paintings can give children in Vietnam more energy."

"Twilight" by Karishma.

Among her three paintings, the first, titled "Twilight," was inspired by the sunset in her hometown. The artist said that the setting sun brought peace to her soul. The picture is painted in hot colors, presenting the stretching light of a sunset on the lake surface, evoking a feeling of depth and peace.

"Waterfalls"

The last picture Karishma sent to the contest is named "Waterfalls " in which she draw waterfalls in the rainforest.

As a lover of nature, the artist compares the sound of flowing water and forest wind to a relaxing symphony for the soul.

Karishma said: "It did not take me too long to draw these pictures because they all come from my love for nature. When I gave the paintings to the contest, I hopde everyone would feel that love too."

Though she cannot visit Vietnam to join the exhibition, Karishma said she really wanted to go to Vietnam because of her love for the country.

During her eight years living in Saigon, she held three exhibitions and sold more than 100 paintings to support children with heart disease, orphans, and disabilities in Vietnam.

Karishma wishes that after being auctioned, the paintings can help children overcome their adversity.

"I hope everyone is healthy. I just wish that after the contest, I will receive a happy photo of the children's family. It motivates and makes me more determined on my path," she said.
