Int'l Friends, Leaders Express Solidarity and Support for Vietnam after Typhoon Yagi
In the face of the severe damage caused by Typhoon No. 3 (Yagi) in Vietnam, the Belgium-Vietnam Friendship Association, the Romania - Vietnam Friendship Association "Lotus", and the Vietnam - UK Network (VUKN), a friendship organization run in the UK by volunteers, express deep sympathy and solidarity with the Vietnamese people.
Pierre Grega, President of the Belgium – Vietnam Friendship Association, writes, "We learned with sadness and shock of the disasters and floods that were caused by Typhoon Yagi in the North of Vietnam and in the Hanoi region.
The loss of more than a hundred human lives, the hundreds of devastated houses and infrastructures are a new terrible ordeal that the Vietnamese people must endure.
On behalf of the Belgium-Vietnam Frendship Association, I would like to express all our compassion, our solidarity with VUFO, VBFA, her members and the Vietnamese people who must face this new disaster."
Mihai Condescu, Chairman of the Romania - Vietnam Friendship Association "Lotus" stands in solidarity with the families of those suffering from typhoon Yagi, and sent sincere regards to the families mourning the loss of loved ones. "We stand in solidarity with the entire Vietnamese people and the Party and State leaders, wishing them strength, wisdom and health to overcome this pain produced by nature. With much respect!" he writes in his message.

Meanwhile, on behalf of the Vietnam-UK Network, its Chairman Mark Kent, offers the deepest sympathies and condolences to the Vietnamese government and people for the devastation and loss of life caused by Typhoon Yagi. He emphasized that their thoughts are with all those affected at this distressing time, and they send their best wishes for the reconstruction and recovery efforts in the aftermath of the Typhoon.
The Laos-Vietnam Friendship Association and the Myanmar-Vietnam Friendship Association also sent letters of condolence, expressing deep sympathy and solidarity with the Vietnamese people, especially the families of the victims.
Russian Federation Security Council Vice Chairman Dmitry Medvedev extended condolences to the families of the deceased and expressed wishes for a quick recovery for those affected.
French President Emmanuel Macron expressed solidarity with Vietnam and confirmed France's willingness to assist in overcoming the storm's impacts.
Leaders from Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Mozambique, Nicaragua, Palestine, Finland, Turkey, and UNESCO have also sent messages of inquiry and condolences, offering support to Vietnam in the aftermath of Storm Yagi.
In addition, Foreign Ministers from China, Cuba, the Republic of Korea, Japan, and Hungary have reached out to Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son with messages of support.
