"I will return but not today" (Anh sẽ về nhưng không phải hôm nay) is a new song by musician Kien Ninh performed by People's Artist Quoc Hung. The song has a powerful sound but is full of lyricism. The song praises the mettle and the spirit of patriotism, love for the homeland, the people and the people's health, for the peace of the country, that the white-shirted warriors are ready to defy the danger and rush in the battle against Covid-19.

Although this battle is full of difficulties, hardships, dangers, arduous and fierce battles, the white-shirted warrior still has a conviction to win. The song speaks to the hearts of doctors and nurses, sending to loved ones back home that: Keep your faith, and tomorrow, when we win the pandemic, the country is peaceful, I will come back.

The song came to author Kien Ninh and People's Artist Quoc Hung by chance. Not long ago, People's Artist Quoc Hung received a poem from his friend Vu Van Ngoc. Ngoc is the chairman of Di Su commune, My Hao district, Hung Yen province. In the past few days, the pandemic has also affected the locality, he is directly in command of a post of the commune. After hours of stressful anti-pandemic, a quiet rest at night reminded him of his wife and children. And then the poem "I will return but not today" was born.

Reading the poem, People's Artist Quoc Hung felt very emotional and he sent the poem to musician Kien Ninh to set the music. Kien Ninh himself, like many other artists across the country, has always focused on the fight against the pandemic. He also intends to write a song to cheer up those on the front lines. The poem has a strange charm, bringing very strong emotions so that Kien Ninh could complete this song in a very short time.

The song "I will return but not today"

Musician Kien Ninh said that he "touched" emotions in the first sentence: "The verse "I will return but not today" is meaningful, containing the boundless love of a young couple and also a sense of responsibility and love for the country. The music ideas popped up in me and it took only one session, the song of the same name was born.”

Two days later, the harmony performed by musician Ha Trung was also completed, and People's Artist Quoc Hung had just enough time to practice the song and was ready to join Kien Ninh into the studio.

People's Artist Quoc Hung said, "There is a harmony between the music and the lyrics. The song was born with three emotions: of the poet, of the musician and of the singer. For me, this is a beautiful and meaningful work, supporting the spirit of those on the front lines against the pandemic."
