National Parents' Day: Poems
Here is a list of some very sweet Parents’ Day poems and activities that you can share with your family as listed by Momjunction, Republicworld and Theparentsday:
1. People Come And People Go
People come and people go
In life like changing weather
Friends, foes and colleagues
Along with many others
But the only people in life
Who remain constant
Are parents like you who believe
Their kids to be the most important
Thank you.
2. A Little Thank You
I don't always show it
but you know that I do
appreciate how much
the both of you
have helped me with my life,
love, and career
and given me all of the things
that have gotten me here.
3. I don't need Father's Day
I don't need Father's Day
To say I love you dad
Buying gifts on Mother's Day
Is just another fad
Giving thanks to my parents
Each and every day
Is how I'll express my gratitude
For showing me the way
Thank you
4. I Truly Love You Two
You are both special in every way
Encouraging me more and more each passing day
Both of you make me strong
With you two at the helm, not a thing could go wrong
You’ve both helped me through many trials and tribulations
You’ve made things better in every situation
Thank you both for always being there
And showing me that you truly care
Words can never explain how I feel about you
But I hope that you know that I truly love you two!
5. Mom And Dad
"I can't repay the lessons That you taught when I was small.
Or give you gift for gift The daily treasures I recall...
I can't return encouragement And loving words of praise.
In quite the way you did for me Through all my childhood days.
But there is one gift that I can give, It's all the love you've earned.
For love is what you always taught... And love is what I learned."

6. A Million Words Would Be Too Short
Thank you, mom
Thank you, Dad
Three small words
So much to add
For all your love
And all your support
A million words
Would be too short
The words ‘I love you.’
Seem too few
To express the love
I have for you.
7. A Million Words Would Be Too Short
Thank you, mom
Thank you, Dad
Three small words
So much to add
For all your love
And all your support
A million words
Would be too short
The words ‘I love you.’
Seem too few
To express the love
I have for you.
8. Thanks, Mom And Dad
I love you mom and daddy
You taught me oh so much
I can’t begin to describe all the ways
That my life you profoundly touched
You taught me morals and values
You helped me reach my goals
And all the things I learned from you
Will stay till I am old.
I want to thank you deeply
For being there for me
And for being absolutely, without a doubt
The best parents, one could be.
9. Because They Love Me
When I am sad, they comfort me
When I am sick, they care for me
When I misbehave, they discipline me
Because they love me.
When I need help, they help me
When I lose all faith, they help me regain it
When I need forgiveness, they forgive me
Because they love me.
When I am cold, they give me shelter
When I need help with my homework, they help me the best they can
When I lose my way, they will come and find me
Because they love me.
When I feel low, they let me know I am smart
When others make fun of me, they let me know I am special
No matter what happens, I know they will always be there
Because they love me.
10. I Truly Love You Two
You are both special in every way
Encouraging me more and more each passing day
Both of you make me strong
With you two at the helm, not a thing could go wrong
You’ve both helped me through many trials and tribulations
You’ve made things better in every situation
Thank you both for always being there
And showing me that you truly care
Words can never explain how I feel about you
But I hope that you know that I truly love you two!

13. Parents
There are little eyes upon you,
And they are watching night and day;
There are little ears that quickly
Take in every word you say.
There are little hands all eager
To do everything you do;
and a little boy who's dreaming
Of the day he'll be like you.
You're the little fellow's idol;
You're the wisest of the wise;
In his little mind, about you
No suspicions ever rise.
He believes in you devotedly,
Holds that all you say and do,
He will say and do in your way
When he's grown up like you.
There's a wide-eyed little fellow
Who believes you're always right;
And his ears are always open,
And he watches day and night.
You are setting an example
Every day in all you do;
For the little boy who's waiting
To grow up to be just like you.
"There's one sad truth in life I've found, While journeying east and west
The only folks we really wound, Are those we love the best.
We flatter those we scarcely know, We please the fleeting guest,
And deal full many a thoughtless blow, To those who love us best."
14. Parents Will Be There
When you feel like breaking down or crashing in,
Who do you turn to, to forgive your sin?
When you cried your lonely tears,
Who will be there to fight your fears?
And when it feels like no one would understand,
Who was there to hold your hand?
There are people whom you can't replace,
They're the ones who gave you your face.
They'll love you through thick and thin,
They show you the light from deep within.
And if by chance, you happen to die,
They'll be the ones who will really cry.
You see, my friend, there's no one who can love you more,
Than your very own parents, that's for sure.
Always remember that this is true,
That wherever you go, your parents will be there for you.
15. When You Thought I Wasn't Looking
When You Thought I Wasn't Looking,
I saw you hang my first painting on the refrigerator,
and I wanted to paint another one.
When You Thought I Wasn't Looking,
I saw you feed a stray cat,
and I thought it was good to be kind to animals.
When You Thought I Wasn't Looking,
I saw you make my favorite cake for me,
and I knew that little things are special things.
When You Thought I Wasn't Looking,
I heard you say a prayer,
and I believed there is a God I could always talk to.
When You Thought I Wasn't Looking,
I felt you kiss me goodnight,
and I felt loved.
When You Thought I Wasn't Looking,
I saw tears come from your eyes,
and I learned that sometimes things hurt,
but it's all right to cry.
When You Thought I Wasn't Looking,
I saw that you cared and I wanted to be
everything that I could be.
National Parent’s Day: Suggested Activities
Call or visit them
Parents love visits from the kids and grandkids. And let’s face it — they aren’t going to be around forever, as much as we wish they could be. We should tell our parents how much they mean to us.
Tell them they were right
Parents are always dispensing wisdom and advice as we grow up, most of it unsolicited. As kids, we often dismiss these truths or ignore them outright. Then, we grow up and have kids of our own — and we realize how right our parents were about pretty much everything all along.
Give them a holiday for the holiday
Find out where your parents have always wanted to go and send them on vacation. Take care of every detail so that all your folks have to do is show up at the airport — or the cruise ship terminal!
Spend the Day at the Park
Spend the day at the park, where you can stroll around and spend time with your parents for some quality bonding time. You can even bring a small picnic with you, as well as some board games or kites to play with.
Organize a Small Party at Home
Wouldn’t it be nice to celebrate the day with the people who helped in raising you up? Parenthood isn’t an easy journey, and I’m sure your parents also needed some guidance to make sure they’re on the right path. So, to thank those people who helped, host a small party honoring them as well. It could be your aunts and uncles, your grandparents, and even your parents’ friends. As they say, it takes a village to raise a child.
Make a Family Movie
What better way to celebrate Parents’ Day than to premiere a family movie? Now that we’re in the digital age, surely you have documented at least a day in your family life. Look into your family archive, and see which footages you can include. If there aren’t any footages you can use, why not reenact and film the most memorable events in your family? Honor and celebrate your parents by telling a visual story about them.
Family Chore Day
The purpose of Parents’ Day is to spend the day with your parents and show appreciation. Lighten your parents’ load by helping them with the house chores, and doing it with a happy heart. Give your parents the light chores while you and your siblings take on the heavier ones. Don’t forget to crack up the tunes while you’re at it. Afterwards, the whole family can relax with an ice cold beverage by the yard. Doesn’t that sound nice?
Have a Family Game Night
Organize a fun family game night. Nothing tests your bond together than a competitive game. You can play charades, bingo, and even trivia. Also consider customizing the games to focus on all things about your parents, like their favorite dish, color, facts, and many more.
Give Their Hobbies a Try
Believe it or not, our parents have their own interests and hobbies. Perhaps we’re just not aware of it because they’re too busy… well, being a parent. So, this Parents’ Day can be the perfect opportunity to let them indulge in those hobbies they want to do so much. Even better, try doing it with them. Who knows, you may unlock a new skill and interest while doing so.

Create A Memory Book
Use the day to make some fun memories and record them too. Make a scrapbook and ask each member of the family to write down something about other family members. Also ask them to share some special pictures too.
Watch Movies That Revolve Around Families
Have a movie marathon at home, complete with popcorn. Select movies that feature families and celebrate relationships between parents and children.
Create A Handprint Memory
Create a fun handprint wall art that has everybody’s palm prints on it. Frame and display it proudly.
Say I Love You
Let the day be all about the love and joy of being together.
Tell your parents as well as your children that you love them.
Stay Up Late Chatting
Use the occasion to spend quality time with your family.
Stay up late, play board games, chat and tell each other what you like the most about them.
