Most of the passengers were children, students under 18, the elderly, the sick, holidaymakers, those with expired visas, and guestworkers who were forced to have a labour contract cut or take months off without pay.
The Vietnamese Embassy in the UAE sent officials to Dubai airport to guide and assist the citizens to complete necessary procedures before boarding the plane.
The flight was conducted with assistance from relevant Vietnamese agencies, the Vietnamese Embassy in the UAE, and the national flag carrier of Vietnam – Vietnam Airlines.
When the plane touched down on Can Tho International Airport’s runway, all passengers and crewmembers made health declarations and were placed in quarantine according to regulations.
