On April 3, nearly 50 overseas Vietnamese from 20 countries and territories, organized by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, offered incense at the Hung Temple historical site to commemorate the Hung Kings' death anniversary.

The delegation paid respects by offering incense at the Lac Long Quan Temple, then commemorated the Hung Kings at the Lower, Middle, and Upper Temples. Following the ceremony, they expressed gratitude and reported achievements to their ancestors at the Upper Temple.

The Hung Kings' Commemoration and the Cultural - Tourism Week of the Ancestral Land in 2025, organized by the Phu Tho People's Committee from March 29 to April 7 (March 1-10 on the lunar calendar), took place at the Hung Kings Temple Historical Site.

The festival featured diverse activities that celebrated the enduring spirit of the Hung Kings, blending historical traditions with contemporary life. These events fostered national pride and love for the homeland, connecting every Vietnamese child to their sacred origins.

For Tran Quang Hien, Chairman of the Thai Association of Vietnamese origin in Loei province, visiting the Hung Kings Temple Historical Site for the first time was deeply moving. He expressed gratitude and pride in Vietnam's heroic past, honoring the contributions of the Hung Kings and the sacrifices of previous generations in building and protecting the nation.

Nguyen Thi Lan Huong, President of the Vietnamese Women's Association in the Netherlands, stressed the deep responsibility overseas Vietnamese feel to uphold the nation's traditions, wherever they live or work. She affirmed their dedication to contributing to Vietnam's prosperity and growth in the new era.

Hung Kings' Commemoration Day, held on the 10th day of the third lunar month, is a cherished national holiday that symbolizes the tradition of honoring the nation's roots. This occasion holds great significance for the overseas Vietnamese community, with representative agencies and associations across the globe organizing celebrations each year.

The organization of the Overseas Vietnamese Delegation to attend the 2025 Hung Kings' Commemoration highlights the values of gratitude and national pride. The event strengthens bonds between overseas Vietnamese and their homeland, fostering the spirit of unity and preserving Vietnamese cultural heritage worldwide. It is also part of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese's 2025 work program, reflecting the Party and State's policies toward the overseas Vietnamese community.

At the reception, Du Van Quang, Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs of Phu Tho province, spoke of the province's achievements, including its economic growth and leading export performance. He emphasized Hung Temple as a symbol of unity and expressed hope for continued contributions from overseas Vietnamese to build the homeland and nation sustainably.

Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Nguyen Trung Kien expressed gratitude to the Phu Tho People's Committee for their collaboration in organizing the program, which serves as a platform for overseas Vietnamese to connect with their roots and experience the culture of worshiping the Hung Kings. He highlighted the important role of the overseas Vietnamese community in contributing to the country's development, noting their efforts to overcome challenges and make significant achievements in 2024.

Nguyen Trung Kien emphasized that overseas Vietnamese associations, intellectuals, and entrepreneurs are playing a vital role in connecting domestic and international communities, promoting investment, trade, technology transfer, and innovation, as well as fostering a startup ecosystem in Vietnam.

He also highlighted the importance of cultural preservation activities, such as celebrating Vietnamese New Year, Hung Kings' Commemoration Day, and teaching Vietnamese in overseas communities. These efforts help enhance Vietnam's image and strengthen its international standing.

To further improve overseas Vietnamese affairs, he urged Phu Tho leaders to continue their support by working closely with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs to implement Conclusion No. 12-KL/TW of the Politburo. He encouraged leveraging overseas Vietnamese resources for the province's socio-economic development.

Additionally, he suggested simplifying administrative procedures to facilitate overseas Vietnamese in business and charitable endeavors, and to provide ongoing support for local associations and relatives of overseas Vietnamese.

Additionally, he instructed the provincial Department of Foreign Affairs to maintain close collaboration with the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese. This includes regularly sharing information, promptly addressing concerns related to overseas Vietnamese, and coordinating programs tailored to overseas Vietnamese within the province.
