A delegation of 120 young overseas Vietnamese from 27 countries and territories around the world attend an incense offering ceremony at Thuong temple and the temple dedicated to Father Lac Long Quan in the Hung Kings temple historical relic area in the northern province of Phu Tho, on July 15, VNA reported.
This activity is part of the Vietnam Summer Camp 2024 for the young generation of Vietnamese abroad.

Attending the incense offering ceremony were representatives of the Department of Cultural Information - State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs (SCOV), Ministry of Foreign Affairs; leader of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Phu Tho Provincial Youth Union.
The Hung Kings Temple historical relic site located in Co Tich hamlet, Hy Cuong commune, Viet Tri city of Phu Tho, is a place to worship the Hung Kings, the legendary founders of the nation.
The 850-ha complex consists of four temples, one pagoda, a tomb, and a museum featuring the formation and development of Van Lang. The upper, middle, and lower temples commemorate the 18 Hung Kings. The fourth worships two daughters of the 18th Hung King: princesses Tien Dung and Ngoc Hoa.
At Kinh Thien Palace on Nghia Linh Mountain, the delegation offered incense, flowers, and offerings to commemorate the Hung Kings, vowing to unite with one heart and contribute to building and protecting the Fatherland.

The Vietnam Summer Camp 2024 is taking place from July 14-29 in 12 provinces and cities throughout the country, including Hanoi, Phu Tho, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, and Thua Thien-Hue.
During the event, participants will engage in various activities, such as visiting historical sites and scenic locations, experiencing traditional culture, joining in cultural and sports exchanges, and performing social charity activities.
First held in 2004, the camp, an annual program organized by the SCOV in coordination with relevant agencies, has brought thousands of outstanding young OVs from 16-24 years old to visit their motherland, and learn about the nation's traditions, culture and history, and exchange to strengthen solidarity among overseas Vietnamese young people; between the young generation of overseas Vietnamese and domestic youth.
Le Nguyen Luu An, a Vietnamese student living in Malaysia, told VOV5 reporter that she has known about Vietnam Summer Camp for a long time through her sister and other siblings who went there in previous years. She feels excited about this program and really wants to attend summer camp to have interesting experiences. "I also want to meet Vietnamese friends in countries around the world," she said.
And Nguyen Nam Khanh, who just returned from Pakistan, said "I have prepared a lot for the summer camp. First is the basic information about the destinations and then the luggage for the trip. I also learn a lot about the climate, images of each place I visit, and learn about landmarks."
