Over VND50 billion raised for the "For the seas and islands of Vietnam" Fund in 2022

317 units have signed up for a donation of up to VND50.1 billion (approx. USD2.13 million) to the “For the seas and islands of Vietnam” Fund in 2022, of which over VND49.79 billion (approx. USD2.12 million) has been transferred to the City Fund.

More than VND50 billion has been raised for the "For the seas and islands of Vietnam" Fund in 2022.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi has launched and called on the agencies, organizations, units, businesses, and all social classes of the Capital to overcome the difficulties caused by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic by actively supporting Hanoi’s 2022 "For the seas and islands of Viet Nam" Fund.

As of 5 July 2022, the whole city had recorded 317 units signing up for donation, with the total amount reaching more than VND50.1 billion (approx. USD2.13 million), of which over VND49.79 billion (approx. USD2.12 million) had been transferred to the City Fund.

The Standing Committee of Hanoi’s Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee says, although the 2022 "For the seas and islands of Vietnam" Fundraising campaign takes place amidst the country’s socio-economic recovery after 2 years of being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, the campaign has been a great success, helping mobilize adequate resources as proposed by the Vietnamese Navy. The Fund has been managed in a close and transparent manner.

Some organizations and units have assumed a proactive part in the propaganda and fundraising campaign, making impressive achievements, namely Hanoi City Police, raising VND1.5 billion (approx. USD63 thousand); Hanoi Capital Command, VND1.058 billion (approx. USD45 thousand); Dong Da district, VND2.955 billion (approx. USD125 thousand); Hoang Mai district, VND2.464 billion (approx. USD105 thousand); Dong Anh district, VND2.280 billion (approx. USD97 thousand); Cau Giay district, VND2.107 billion (approx. USD89 thousand).

Compared to 2021, some units have obtained outstanding results, such as Ha Dong district, VND1.368 billion (approx. USD58 thousand) (up 144%); Long Bien district, VND2.632 billion (approx. USD112 thousand) (up 132%)...

According to the Standing Committee of Hanoi’s Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, the results of the 2022 "For the seas and islands of Viet Nam" Fundraising campaign not only provide additional resources to help Truong Sa gain access to extra facilities and encourage officers and soldiers to carry on with the protection of the seas and islands’ sovereignty but are also a display of the deep feelings and affections of the Party Committee, the government and the People of the Capital, who always have the country’s sacred seas and islands at heart.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi has issued a Call to support the 2022 "For the seas and islands of Vietnam" Fund since 1 March. The call, directed at the agencies, organizations, units, businesses, and people of the Capital, clearly states: The seas and islands of Vietnam are a part of the sacred territory of the country. Many generations of our ancestors have sweated blood to build, maintain, develop, and protect the country's sovereignty for the present and the future. Participation in the construction and protection of the seas and islands’ sovereignty is the right and obligation of every Vietnamese citizen.

To promote the strength and spirit of great national unity, continue to show the affection and responsibility of the officers, soldiers, and all social classes of the Capital towards the seas and islands of Vietnam, and devote additional resources to the construction of significant works, contributing to raising the standards of the material and spiritual life of the army and the people on the country’s seas and islands, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi has launched and called on the agencies, organizations, units, businesses and all social classes of the Capital to overcome difficulties caused by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic by actively supporting Hanoi’s 2022 "For the seas and islands of Vietnam" Fund.

The level of participation and support of each officer, worker, and employee in the agencies, units, and businesses of the city is a minimum of 1 day's salary. The agencies, organizations, businesses, and people may make donations based on their capabilities and conditions.
