"Dong Nai will support the overseas Vietnamese community when living and working in host countries as well as encouraging and creating conditions for our compatriots abroad to participate in economic development activities - culture - education of the province,” said Nguyen Hong Linh, secretary of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee at the "Meeting Vietnamese people abroad" event on April 14.

According to Linh, Dong Nai currently has 32,000 overseas Vietnamese living and working in countries and territories around the world and nearly 18,000 families who have members living abroad.

The province also has 17 Vietnamese enterprises whose overseas citizens participate in capital contribution with trillions of dong, mainly focusing on services, education, real estate business. Overseas Vietnamese is also an important "catalyst" for the successes of Dong Nai's people-to-people diplomacy in the renovation process.

Every year, the province organizes a program to meet overseas Vietnamese to support them connect with localities; create conditions for business delegates, entrepreneurs, intellectuals, investors, members of associations and business clubs of overseas Vietnamese to grasp the situation of socio-economic development, meeting and discussing with local leaders about investment cooperation opportunities.

"With the desire to contribute and support to find agricultural products for farmers, we look forward to cooperating to transfer agricultural products and mushroom cultivation model for ethnic minorities in the province," said Dr. Le Hoang The, vice chairman of the Overseas Vietnamese Entrepreneurs Association.

He also shared his experience of bringing 100% made in Vietnam lingzhi mushrooms (Ganoderma lucidum) to the US market and selling it on the international e-commerce platform Amazon.
