The Embassy of Vietnam in Indonesia and Timor Leste hosted a virtual gathering on February 7 to celebrate the Tet (Lunar New Year) with Vietnamese people and international friends living in the country.

Ambassador Pham Quang Vinh praised the concerted efforts made by Vietnamese people in Indonesia and Timor Leste to overcome hardships and support the local response to the coronavirus pandemic, sharing that Vietnam's achievements and progress in the bilateral relations cannot be made without the contributions of the Vietnamese community and international friends in the Indonesia and Timor Leste.

On February 6, the Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore held a get-together to celebrate Tet for staff of the embassy and Vietnamese representatives and Vietnamese families in Singapore.

Ambassador Cao Thi Thanh Huong spoke highly of the positive contributions made by the Vietnamese community in Singapore to their homeland as well as the host country.

On the occasion, the Ambassador awarded certificates of merit to outstanding overseas Vietnamese for their active contribution to the development of the bilateral relationship between Vietnam and Singapore.

On the same day, the Vietnamese Consulate General in Canada’s Vancouver held a virtual get-together for Vietnamese expatriates.

Also on February 6, the Khmer - Vietnam Association held a pre-Tet gathering for overseas Vietnamese in Cambodia, NDO reported.
