Speaking at the launching ceremony of "Tree planting festival in gratitude to Uncle Ho" on the celebration of 133rd birthday of President Ho Chi Minh, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on overseas Vietnamese in HCMC Dinh Thi Phuong Thao referred to the "Tree Planting Festival" initiated by Uncle Ho.
For many years, HCMC and the whole country have responded and actively participated in the movement of tree planting, afforestation, forest protection and development.
She emphasized that planting trees and afforestation to increase forest coverage will contribute to environmental protection, disaster reduction, and at the same time adapting to climate change, contributing to building a "green, environmentally friendly" city.

Last year, the delegation of overseas Vietnamese planted trees in Can Gio protection forest. The cost for this program is all voluntary contributed and sponsored by participants. This meaningful activity shows the love and reverence of overseas Vietnamese towards President Ho Chi Minh.
