President of VGCL Receives Secretary General of Peruvian Communist Party

On November 15, in Hanoi, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) Nguyen Dinh Khang had a working session with Luis Villanueva Carbajal, Secretary General of the Peruvian Communist Party (PCP), head of the Workers' General Confederation of Peru.

At the meeting, on behalf of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL), President Nguyen Dinh Khang sent greetings to the high-ranking delegation of the Peruvian Communist Party led by Luis Villanueva Carbajal, PCP Secretary General, who is on a working visit in Vietnam.

The President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor believed that the delegation's visit would contribute to further tightening the relationship between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Communist Party of Peru. It also lays the foundation for promoting the friendly relationship between the confederations of the two countries.

At the meeting, Nguyen Dinh Khang introduced the history of the VGCL through 94 years of development and formation. The VGCL is responsible for representing the legal rights of workers and protecting and criticizing policies related to workers. Currently, the conferation has more than 11.5 million union members.

“In Vietnam, the Communist Party of Vietnam has a comprehensive leadership role in confederation activities. Recently, the Communist Party of Vietnam issued Resolution 02-NQ/TW on innovating the organization and operations of VGCL in the new situation," said President Nguyen Dinh Khang.

VGCL President Nguyen Dinh Khang also informed the Peruvian delegation that the 13th National Congress of VGCL will be held in December in Hanoi. This is an important political event, marking a new development step of the labor movement, affirming the role and position of the working class and the VGCL in the context of the new situation.

In foreign affairs, in harmony with the country's integration process, the VGCL also pays great attention to exchanges and cooperation with international labor's confederation organizations. President Nguyen Dinh Khang hoped that the relationship between the VGCL and the Workers' General Confederation of Peru would be increasingly tightened. The Workers' General Confederation of Peru will be a bridge to help the VGCL develop relationships with conferations of countries in the Americas region.

Luis Villanueva Carbajal, PCP Secretary General hopes that the results of this visit will further deepen the relationship between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Communist Party of Peru. The delegation will have more opportunities to learn deeply about the process of socialist economic development in Vietnam.

Luis Villanueva Carbajal appreciated the important role of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in representing the legal rights of workers in the country's development process. The meeting is also an opportunity for the Peruvian delegation to exchange and learn practical experiences from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
