According to VGP, transport businesses and passengers, however, are still required to continue wearing face masks properly at airports, train stations, wharves, bus stations, and vehicles during the journey. Regular hand wash, body temperature checking, limited communication, and eating on public transport means are also encouraged.
Before their journey, passengers must perform health declaration and encouraged to install and turn on the Bluezone app - a domestically developed contact-tracing mobile app to alert people who have interacted with COVID-19 patients.
In addition, passengers shall have to inform staff of public transport means or contact the hotline of the Ministry of Health (19009095) or hotlines of localities for advice and assistance if they have such symptoms like cough, fever, or shortness of breath.
The removal of social distancing was made as the central city has recorded no new community transmitted case of COVID-19 while the country has gone 10 days without domestic infections. As of September 15, Vietnam has gone 15 days without any community infections, keeping the national tally at 1063, with 926 have recovered and been discharged from hospitals. 35 deaths have been reported. |
Earlier, since September 7, the ministry allowed the resumption of public transport services to and from Da Nang after such services had been suspended for more than a month. Vietnam Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has also agreed to reopen six international commercial flights, including four routes to Guangzhou (China), Taiwan (China), Seoul (the Republic of Korea), and Tokyo (Japan) as from September 15, and to Laos and Cambodia as from September 22. The reopening of routes will be expected to welcome 20,000 foreign visitors in the first month. Meanwhile, the exact date to resume passenger flights from Vietnam to selected countries has not been confirmed, as health agency is finalizing plans, medical testing procedures, and isolation rules for those entering Vietnam. |
