It helped enhance solidarity among the Vietnamese students as well as the Vietnamese community in the RoK, and promote the image of young and dynamic Vietnamese students to international friends, thus contributing to the cohesion among them and the host country’s organizations and businesses and to developing the Vietnam-RoK relations, according to the Vietnamese Students Association in the RoK (VSAK) – the organizer of the festival.
On August 20, a football tournament for Vietnamese labourers working in the RoK under the Employment Permit System (EPS) was also organized in Ansan city.
It attracted 20 teams from Seoul capital, Gyeonggi province and Incheon city.
Minister-Counsellor Anh said that since 2004, as many as 140,000 Vietnamese people have travelled to the RoK to work under the EPS programme, and made contributions to boost the two countries’ relations.
He stated that the Vietnamese Embassy always hopes Vietnamese workers will unite, abide by contracts, comply with regulations on residence and other provisions of the Korean law, and together build an image of dynamic, creative and well integrated Vietnamese workforce.

Le Manh Hung, deputy director of the Center for Overseas Labor, congratulated the tournament on behalf of the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam.
He said that in order to well implement the Memorandum of Understanding between the Vietnam's Ministry of Labour, Invalids and the RoK's Ministry of Employment and Labor signed to extend in June 2023, in the context of strong competition from foreign countries. While sending laborers to the RoK, the two countries' authorities agreed to continue promoting the management and support of workers, especially in procedures at the end of the contract, as well as facilitate procedures for workers to re-enter Korea.
Hung said that in 2023, the RoK is expected to receive about 110,000 foreign workers, of which the quota of Vietnamese laborers entering Korea is over 10,000.
To achieve this goal, the Vietnamese side will have to continue to promote activities to mobilize laborers to comply with the law, to abide by the contract, to return home according to regulations when the contract expires, thereby reducing the number of workers residing illegally.
The organization of this football festival is a form of innovation in propaganda methods, the method of gathering and concentrating employees so that the propaganda is carried out regularly and in accordance with the actual working practices of the employees. and be effective.
