Deploying synchronously with achievements
In 2023, the situation in the East Sea is considered to have many new developments, profoundly affecting common security in the region, directly affecting the fight to protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
However, in the past year, as the core force to manage and protect the sea and islands, the Vietnam People's Navy has deployed tasks synchronously and comprehensively, promoted seas and island propaganda with 63 provinces and cities, 16 central agencies, ministries and branches.
Rear Admiral Do Van Yen, deputy political commissar of the Navy, shared outstanding results within the framework of the Conference summarizing foreign information work, sea and island propaganda, border demarcation, and border management in 2023 on December 22 in Hanoi.

Coordinated propaganda work on seas and islands always receives regular, continuous, comprehensive and effective leadership, direction, coordination and assistance from the party, government, local people and central agencies, departments and ministries.
Many movements, exhibition activities and display of documents about the sea and islands have taken place effectively and have a strong pervasiveness.
Coordinated propaganda activities on the sea and islands closely followed reality, deployed at many levels and sectors, with many participating forces, diverse in content, and rich in implementation forms.
Agencies and units in the army coordinated with localities to organize 950 propaganda sessions with more than 450,000 participants.
Central and local news and press agencies coordinated to publish 9,760 news, articles, reports, photos, and clips of activities to protect seas and islands sovereignty of the Vietnam People's Navy.
Coordinated propaganda activities on seas and islands helped party committees, local authorities, agencies and units have the conditions to research and grasp the practical situation, developments at sea, and new foreign moves in the East Sea.
This serves the leadership, direction, and management of the state in general and propaganda activities on the seas and islands in particular.
Strengthening propaganda work
To successfully carry out the assigned tasks, Rear Admiral Pham Van Luyen emphasized a number of important tasks in the coming time for the Navy.
The Navy needs to thoroughly grasp the resolutions, directives, and conclusions of the Party, State, Central Military Commission, and Ministry of National Defense on protecting sovereignty over seas and islands.
They need to proactively research and grasp developments at sea to improve their ability to analyze, evaluate, forecast, and promptly advise the Party, State, and Ministry of National Defense on policies, and strategic solutions.
The Navy needs to flexibly and properly handle complex cases at sea, promptly providing official information and orientation to officers, soldiers and people when complicated situations arise.
Besides, directing the forces on duty at sea is important. This is to promptly detect, propagate and fight resolutely against forces that violate our sovereign rights and jurisdiction on the seas and islands.
In addition, the Navy needs to continue to well implement the coordinated seas and islands propaganda program signed with localities, agencies and units.
These programs focus on improving the quality of conferences, seminars, and exhibitions, organizing delegations to visit the Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago, the DKI platform and islands across the country.
The Navy also needs to propagate the important political events of the country and the Army, introducing examples of will, determination, and high responsibility in performing tasks, the concern of the Party, State and people for the military and people of Truong Sa island district, DKI rig, the seas and islands of the Fatherland.
