Tay Tang pagoda is located in Thu Dau Mot city. It was built in 1928 with the first name "Buu Huong pagoda". In 1937 the pagoda was renamed Tay Tang (Tibet) after the abbot's trip to Tibet to study Buddhism. At the time of construction, the pagoda was just a small shrine dedicated to Buddha. After a major restoration in 1992, the pagoda resembled a tantric temple in Tibet. The main hall is surrounded by a towering garden with a square structure. Its highlight is the stupa to worship relics and the quadrilateral with a height of over 15m. On the rooftop lie five shrines to worship 5 Buddhas. Only on the full moon days or big holidays, the pagoda's rooftop is open for visitors. (Photo: Quynh Tran/ VN Express)
