Tuna fish eyes – a delicious dish of Phu Yen
The land of “yellow flowers and green grass” has many unique specialtries that charm tourists. One of them is tuna fish eyes, a plate that sounds “disgusting” to many but rarely disappoints.
Tuna found in Phu Yen seas can range from 40 kg to 50 kg per fish. Because they have big eyes, the fisherman often keep them and turn them into an interesting dish. It has since become a famous seafood dish in Vietnam, and is loved by people from all over the world.
Tuna fish eyes can used in several fragrant dishes such as herbed fish-eye stew, green pepper stew, and hotpot. Depending on each plate, the chefs will combine them with different kind of spices, making the food more attractive and mouthwatering.
