Life in Ho Chi Minh City has become more hustle in the coming years. To escape the quick and busy pace of life, many families choose nearby farms for weekend getaways. The following four farms not only offer a fresh atmosphere but only farming and self-catering experiences.

Da Ly Farm

Da Ly covers an area of 1.7 hectares in Truong Thanh ward, Thu Duc city. Visitors only need to spend 30 minutes driving from the center of Ho Chi Minh City to the farm.

Da Ly does not charge an entrance fee. However, customers have to pay for other services such as camping. The prices of each service range from VND 100,000 to 300, 00 (US$ 4.4 - 13)

Tourists can take part in farming activities such as picking vegetables. Guests can rent tents to stay overnight. With a fee of VND 100,000 per person, visitors can host outdoor BBQ parties with home-produced meat and potatoes.

Tam Nong Farm

The 1-hectare farm, located in District 12, has been a familiar destination for Saigon-based people for many years.

It is divided into three areas for husbandry, farming, and aquaculture, with services such as fishing, feeding goats, pigeons, collecting chicken and duck eggs, and learning about organic vegetables.

Visitors can experience folk games such as monkey bridge and basket boating, and can also catch fish and snails, bringing them home or have the farm cook them for meals.

Visitors can book fully equipped overnight accommodation with prices from VND 390,000 to 500.000 (US$16.9 - 21.7) per night.

Hoang Lac Gia Trang

Hoang Lac Gia Trang, an ecological zone located in Tan Yen hamlet, Dong Nai, about 80km from Ho Chi Minh City, is surrounded by a large lake and a big garden.

The ticket price for entrance and camping is VND 60,000 per adult and VND 30,000 per child.

Guests can participate in farming, immerse themselves in nature, and have a green space with a cool and fresh atmosphere to relax.

Hoang Lac Gia Trang offers self-catering. Visitors can row boats, swim in the lake, go fishing, catch snails, collect wild vegetables, visit fruit gardens, and travel through the garden in agricultural vehicles.

In the evening, guests can hold BBQs and rent a room to stay overnight. A room costs from VND 500,000 to 1.200.000 and a tent costs from VND120,000 to 800,000.

Ton Garden

Ton Garden is designed in harmony with nature. The 20-year-old farm is located in Vinh Cuu district, Dong Nai province, about 60 km from Ho Chi Minh City. It is suitable for families with young children as it offers private spaces with many trees and friendly animals.

It is only open on weekends, so visitors need to contact the manager in advance to book a tour.

On the farm, they can take a boat ride, play with swans, watch peacocks, feed goats, admire parrots and koi. Horse riding is also available.

At noon, guests can enjoy local delicacies at a nearby eatery. A day trip for a family usually costs VND 3,000,000 excluding lunch.

Ton Garden does not offer an overnight accommodation service, but visitors can bring their own tents to camp.
